CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO I took in the unfamiliar sights as my guide led me back in the direction of the Plaza. We didn’t reach as far as that court of commerce, however, as Castle turned us off the beaten path and into a narrow side street. The zoning code here had been neglected as open-face shops shared walls with stone homes. Many of the shops were blacksmith forges, and the stench of burning metal filled the air. Fortunately, Castle steered me toward one of the more close-faced shops. A rack stood outside the open sliding door and showed a wide assortment of leather containers.
