Music plays downstairs, but my heart is beating louder. My nerves don't settle even when Mila and Maeve tell me everything is going to be okay.
I want to just shrink inside this room and never leave again. I don't want to be known as the one who was beaten and abused.
It was bad enough when Nikolai would look at me like that.
“Are you okay sweetie?” Maeve asks me as she comes to stand next to me in my room. I want to say yeah. I want to say that everything is absolutely perfect and I can't wait to officially be known as Nikolai’s mate and the Luna to this pack but at the same time I am so scared. So nervous and terrified to feel the rejection from the pack.
