Russell asked Parker to bring Timothy to their home for dinner. He had arranged for everyone to attend, from grandparents and sister-in-law to Rebecca. They’d wondered how Cody and Maria would feel about Timmy’s father coming. Parker had met much of the family, but usually only a few at a time. Poor Timothy hadn’t had that luxury. Once the two men were introduced to a room full of strangers, at least to Timothy, the young man immediately found himself cornered by Cody and Maria. Both children were silent but eyed him ominously. At one point, the poor man raised his hands, palms out and said, “I give, I surrender.
