Chapter 14
Peter and Cody stripped to their boxers and waited briefly for the technician. She got everything ready to take Moe’s X-ray but the beast refused to stand still on the table. Finally, Peter held him gently. Then it was Peter’s turn. He lay on the table with the lead-filled apron over his groin. Last, it was Cody’s turn and he bravely went through the whole thing. They dressed a few minutes later and waited for the radiologist to join them.
The doctor introduced himself before he held up one slide and put it in front of a viewer. “As you can see, Moe has lots of bones, and a pair of human hands.” He showed Cody the lighter outlines on the dark sheet. He slid it into a large envelope. “You can keep this one.” He then brought up Peter’s film and showed Cody the bones throughout h
