Drip.. Drip.. Calder, Alpha of his pack, lay motionless on the cold, damp ground. His vision blurred, he struggled to comprehend the severity of his situation. Argenti, his arch-nemesis, stood over him, a triumphant sneer spreading across his face. The battle had been intense, with both warriors exchanging blows and showcasing their mastery of combat. But Calder had underestimated Argenti’s cunning and ferocity. A swift kick to the stomach had left him reeling, followed by a vicious s***h to his shoulder using his claws, rendering his arm useless. As Argenti raised his silver claws for the final blow, Calder summoned all his remaining lycan strength and attempted a desperate counterattack. However, Argenti was prepared, and with a swift parry, he sent Calder flying with a sever kick to his ribs. The defeated warrior closed his eyes as he couldn’t bear the shame of loosing in front of everyone, his pack, everyone he hold dear, he simply closed his eyes, bracing for the inevitable. But Argenti merely laughed, his voice echoing through the desolate landscape. ‘Is that all, is that all you have, is this why I was sent from the beyond gate, to battle a weak pup who can’t even put up a fight’ Argenti shouted loudly as he looked at Calder with a demeaning gaze. “I expected more from the grays hounds, the famous and feared kings of the lycans. But now, you’re nothing but a broken, bleeding shell of your family, a lie and a weakling.” Calder’s eyes flickered open, his gaze locking onto Argenti’s gloating face. He tried to speak, but his voice was barely a whisper. “You…may have won…this time…but…” “But what?, this wasn’t even a battle ‘ Argenti sneered Argenti leaned in, his voice dripping with malice. “But what else, Calder? You’ll never again threaten my power? You’ll never again dare challenge me?” Argenti slashed again, this time to this back, another s***h to his side, a different s***h to his left shoulders. ‘You are weak, you are nothing as long I am here, you will remain nothing’ Argenti said, withdrawing his claws, he held Calder by his neck while his head dangled backwards. Calder’s vision began to fade, but he refused to surrender. With a Herculean effort, he spat at Argenti’s feet, a defiant gesture that only enraged his enemy further. Argenti’s silver claws flashed in the dim light, and Calder felt a searing pain in his side adding to the old injuries he already had on him. As his consciousness slipped away, he knew he had been defeated, left with serious injuries that would take a long time to heal. But even in defeat, Calder vowed to one day rise again, to exact revenge on the man who had bested him. As Argenti vanished into the shadows, Calder lay there, his body broken, but his spirit unyielding. The warrior’s defeat was only temporary; his will to survive and reclaim victory would fuel his recovery, and the rivalry between Calder and Argenti was far from over.
