The carriage stopped in front of the palace doors and I felt something in the pit of my stomach. I wasn’t sure what it was, but I know that after today, I would be losing either her all together, or her trust. I don’t want to lose her but I can’t keep any secrets from her. And what if it slips out of someone else’s mouth? She’d be even more upset because someone else had told her, and it doesn’t even concern them in any way. I’m not even going to give anyone else the chance to say anything. I just have to face the fact that I’m going to lose her because I couldn’t find any other way to make Lilabeth think I’m in love with her. Was. I couldn’t find any other way to make Lilabeth think I was in love with her.  The driver opened the door and the guards stood at ease once they saw who I was.
