Chapter 9Ryan did neither, of course. They arrived in Marseilles and picked up a rental car in the late afternoon, then drove to Aix with the help of a French-speaking GPS. Ryan couldn’t figure out how to change the language to English and Ted’s French was passable, so they made do. “I feel like the last few days have been a dream,” Ryan said as Montagne Sainte-Victoire came into view from the highway. “How so?” Ted asked. “I mean.
