Chapter 16

JAXSON I’m up early this morning because I’m in charge of training today. I must set up groups of who will train with who. Since I'm unaware of how anyone in this pack can fight, I’m practically doing this blind. Sitting here at the dining room table with the half ass paperwork describing the warriors in this pack. I don’t understand how an alpha could be in charge and not any files of the ranks or accomplishments of his men. Yes, I said men because apparently there are no female warriors. Bullock refused to allow them to join or train because he believes a woman’s place is in the home. He didn’t forbid women from working around the pack but only in positions that he seems fit for them. He preferred them in the home, taking care of their mates, home and children. The look on Alessia’s face when they told us that was priceless. If Bullock was here, she would probably kick his ass just to prove a point. As for my wife, she is currently sitting on the back porch by herself. I asked her if she wanted me to join her, but she politely refused. Something about this being her time. I know she does this at home but I’m not usually awake for it. What I really want to do is run upstairs and jump and yell at Alena. She hates being woken up which is all the better. This is a thing I’ve always done to my kids, but Alena gets it the most because she’s been training longer and must get up earlier. Once I finish my paperwork, I think I’m going to do just that since I'm almost done. Usually, I get a pillow thrown at me with a lot of yelling. I’m pretty much called the worst father in the world at that moment. When she does get up and comes downstairs, I get glares from her until about halfway through our training session before she returns to my sweet baby girl. “Are you almost done?” Alessia asked. She came walking in the dining room holding my coffee mug. “Yeah, this is the best I can do without seeing them. We might have to make changes when we are out there but at least we have somewhere to start.” I said. I got up and gave Alessia a kiss. It wasn’t a pop kiss, but I pulled back too soon. I would love to lay around all day and hold her but that's not an option right now. “I’m going to drop these off in the office and go wake up Alena.” I said while wearing a big smile. “Why are you going to have her start off the day like that?” She asked. She laughed at me because she knows exactly what I'm going to do. I mean, I have been doing it since she was little. You think she would get used to it but nope. I can’t help she is not a morning person. After dropping off the files, I head towards Alena’s room. I listened for any noise to see if they were up but there was none. I quietly opened the door. They had the curtains closed and the room was dark. Courtney and Alena were sharing the king size bed. There was enough room between them that for me to get Courtney, I had to be extra dramatic. I walked to the edge of the bed; both girls were sleeping on their stomach. Courtney had her head buried under the pillow while Alena had the comforter pulled over her head. I jumped into the air and landed on Alena sideways. Twisting and turning, I managed to go across the bed, kicking and pushing both. Definitely dramatic. “WAKE UP SLEEPYHEADS! IT'S TIME TO GET UP!” I yelled. Just as expected, she groaned and started yelling at me. She grabbed her pillow and threw it at me while threatening my life. Courtney rolled over and started laughing. This isn’t the first time she's had to deal with me so it's normal. I got up, grabbed the pillow and hit both with it several times, still yelling for them to get out of bed. When I stopped, they both slowly made attempts to get up. “Breakfast is ready so hurry up and get downstairs before all the boys eat everything.” I said as I walked out of the room. Going back down to the dining room, Alessia was sitting there looking at her phone. She had a plate of food in front of her and she was picking at it while not looking away with whatever she was reading. “What has you so focused, that you can’t eat properly?” I asked “I just got emails from all the district Alphas. They informed me that word has spread that we are traveling to different packs. Some of the packs are quickly getting things together to make themselves look better. Things are going to be harder from here on out. The good thing is, nobody knows where we will be going so the packs that we don’t plan to travel to right now, will have gotten their s**t together. Bad thing is, they will have time to cover things up.” She said. Everyone was dressed in workout clothes. The boys were wearing basketball shorts and tee shirts while the girls had on leggings and sports bras. I could see Alena had a tee shirt thrown over her shoulder. “Everyone eat, but don’t fill yourself too much because you will get sick today in training. Be outside in the field in 45 minutes. Don’t be late or you will be punished.” I said. After I finished eating, I went outside with Thomas and Lucas. We started to warm up while waiting for everyone to get there. This training session was mandatory to everyone in the pack except those that were too young or too old. Those who were pregnant were also required to attend but they wouldn’t have to do anything strenuous. Alena and Courtney walked up and stood beside me. Everyone else stood in front of me. “Good morning everyone. I would like to split everyone in groups so we could evaluate everyone properly. First off, I would like all the warriors to step to the left. Anyone that hasn’t been trained, please step to the right. All top ranks stand in the middle.” I commanded. Courtney went towards the group in the middle while Alena stood still. She’s never trained in front of others outside our pack and then, only a few have seen her fight. I think this is the right time for everyone to see how strong she is. Let word get out that she’s not some weak human who is going to be an easy target. “Alena, stand in the middle.” I said. I watched others gasp at the thought of her fighting. I also heard some people chuckle under their breath. I even heard some say, “but she’s human.” I want them all to see her fight, but she can’t fight me, if she fights anything like she did in our last training session, I can’t have her putting me on my ass. I know she is strong, and she deserves the respect that comes along with that, but others would look at it as I'm weak and I got beat by a human. I’m sure some will say that I don’t deserve to be titled the strongest alpha and I would be constantly challenged. “Everyone quiet! She may be human, but she is my daughter and your princess! She deserves your respect. If anyone is questioning my decision and would like to come demonstrate why she shouldn’t be out here, please feel free to step forward.” My voice boomed through the large crowd. A female stepped forward. She was around the same age as Alena, and she had a smug look on her face. “Who are you?” I asked. “My name is Tracy. I came to this pack about a year ago with my parents. I would like to demonstrate.” She said. Alena looked at me and I nodded my head. They both walked to the front of the crowd and just stared at each other. “This is a fight for submission only. You will fight in human form only. Tracy, you are not to shift.” I said. “What’s the point of respecting her if she can’t fight a wolf? I mean, if there was ever an attack, how could she as a princess protect her pack?” Tracy smugly said. I could tell that she is trying to embarrass Alena. She is feeding off the crowd. People are whispering, agreeing with her. “Little girl, the rule of not shifting is for your protection, not hers. We’ve trained her personally and she is trained to kill a wolf coming after her. Now, if you're done then maybe we can continue.” Thomas said, stepping forward. It was obvious that Tracy has pissed off my men because you can see them all tense. They are very protective of Alena, and they are not liking this girl verbally attacking her. “Enough! Now, let's begin.” I said. Tracy was circling Alena, trying to intimidate her. You could see Alena watching very closely to her every move. She is focused. Tracy is charging towards her and backs off at the last minute to watch what Alena would do but Alena didn’t move. Finally, Tracy moved in quickly, swinging at her. Alena blocked the punch and landed her own. Tracy stumbled back before regaining her balance. She swung again; this time right after she swung, she sent a knee kick towards Alena’s ribs. Alena blocked them all, grabbing Tracy’s leg and tripping her in the process. This pissed Tracy off. Her face is red from anger and embarrassment. She jumped up and charged Alena again only to be met with a roundhouse kick to the side of her head from Alena sending her to the ground. She was dazed. Alena stood over her, punching her again and again. Blood was coming from Tracy’s nose but once Alena backed away, Tracy tried to get up. She staggered forward, refusing to give up. I could see her eyes changing colors, her wolf pissed that she was losing to a human. Tracy charged at her again. Alena ran and jumped in the air wrapping her legs around Tracy’s neck. Alena’s body went over her shoulders and twisted down causing Tracy to flip and land on her stomach hard. She was knocked out from hitting her head. Holy s**t. I didn’t teach her that. That was amazing and so hard to do. It happened so fast that it looked crazy as hell. Everyone’s mouth was wide open in shock. I looked over to the side and saw Alessia standing there watching. She was smiling with such pride. I should have known that Alessia would teach her something like that.
