The forest

Nora’s POV
We just arrived in the forest, the smell oo I missed it so much!
I quickly said to Merlin “you ready to go?” He just jumped and barked once, I assume he is ready and looking forward for his walk.
We started walking our usual path, I kept throwing the ball along the path and Merlin loved going after it time after time.
Suddenly I notice a new path, a path I never seen before, it looked lovely all tall trees next to it, I thought to myself why have I never noticed this path before?
“Come on Merlin” I said to the dog as we went into the new path. It was lovely I saw flowers and tree’s I never seen before, at some point even came besides a small lake, it wasn’t deep at all so decided I would let Merlin have a little swim while I went to sit down next to it on a fallen tree to look out over the lake and Merlin.
We just relaxed there for a little while enjoying the sun and the water, after Merlin had his soak we decided to continue out walk.
It started to become a little bit hilly so I decided to stop throwing the ball for a little bit as I didn’t wanna completely tire out Merlin as we still had to go back too.
Suddenly we heard an ear shattering scream and it sounded like a a girl. I started running towards the sound but couldn’t quite place where it came from. When Merlin and I got to a crossing and where I started to doubt where the scream came from when another one was heard. “Aaaaaah leave me alone!”
We started running again and when we came across the corner we saw the biggest wolf I ever saw, but it did look kinda ill, missing fur patches and just not looked like it was well. And it was looking at the little girl like she was his next meal.
I suddenly had to think of something I can’t fight that wolf but I won’t be able to forgive myself if that little girl would get eaten.
I saw he was getting ready to jump lowering himself it was now or never, and I threw Merlins tennis-ball ad hard as I possibly could towards the wolf hoping my really shitty throwing skills won’t let me down to much. I hit it I HIT IT!! Oooo s**t I hit it, the wolf turned around and started growling at me, I will be honest I thought I was gonna s**t myself just then.
I shouted at the little girl to run, but she already did so. I was quite relieved atleast one of us would make it out of there alive.
I now just have to make it out myself, I suddenly thought maybe Merlin herding skills could come to pass, as he is amazing in sheep herding. I tryed to stay as calm as possible and kept giving Merlin commands to keep running around the wolf, but sadly he didn’t get distracted.
He suddenly jumped towards me and Merlin bit him in his leg, it was so brave of him and it did distract the wolf this time, he got out of balance as Merlin darted of again on safe distance.
Suddenly we heard more wolfs howl, and I thought to myself how are Merlin and I going to get out of here alive? Must have been atleast 10 other wolves that just howled!
I almost thought I saw the wolf that was attacking me panic he made a jump and bit me in my arm, I screamed in pain as I thought I was gonna lose it. But before it could bite down it got tackelde of me, by another wolf!
I felt Merlins wet nose on my arm and o tried to crawl away, it was really hard as the woods where thick and my arm was bleeding heavily. I think we managed to crawl almost 10 meters, when another howl was heard.
I tried to hide behind the tree as good as possible, getting my arm bandaged with my shirt the best I could while trying not to make a sound.
Suddenly Merlin started the growl and I got so scared thinking the wolves had found me, it got confirmed when the wolf growled next to my ear almost deafening me!
“Merlin!” I shouted hoping he would come back as he ran away from the growling wolf. You could hear my voice tremble as I was super scared.
I was sitting against a tree, almost paralysed my fear, then suddenly this massive dark grey wolf stood in front of me, the wolf of before was nothing compared to this one and he was already big in my opinion.
From all the fear and the bleeding out I slowly started losing consciousness, I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I started hearing things break like lots of twigs and branches or maybe bones? Where they my bones where they eating my legs? I couldn’t feel anything, as darkness was consuming me.
Suddenly I hear a voice, a voice I haven’t heard in a long time. I must be dreaming.
“Your safe now, I got you”
I quietly whisper “Berry?” Just before I completely black out.
