His Luna

Barry’s POV

In a month time I will be turning 25, the dreadful 25. I still haven’t found my mate sadly and that means that at 25 the werewolf council wil chose a mate for me but I don’t want a chosen mate!

“Agreed” said my wolf Bear.

“But sadly we don’t have much of a choice”

“But we do!” He said.

“Would you really wanna give up our pack for our mate? And become rogue?” On this Bear didn’t had anything to say, I thought so.

After our little argument I felt myself starting drifting off again, with all the stress for my upcoming birthday I barely got any sleep lately, so I was exhausted enough to fall asleep in a chair.

I dreamed again over the girl I met when I was 15 and I was at the Boy Scouts she was from a different place and their scouting went camping on our terrain. I don’t know her eyes where mesmerising blue with a tiny tint of grey in them. I quickly found myself staring in them and she was staring back at me.

Our scouting groups went to play a game together, it was kinda like playing tag but you would lift each other up for 3 seconds and then they would join you up until there was one winner left. I had to start with the game and my first victim had to be her.

But she was strong for a human female, very strong. She played smart to, it was almost impossible to lift her up but I also didn’t want to hurt her. I had her locked on the floor holding her arms above her head, whispering “you are a tough one”. Suddenly a girl of her group started shouting “kiss, kiss, kiss” very childish, but I saw the longing look in this girls eyes. But I couldn’t give in, I wanted to safe my first kiss for when I finally would meet my mate at 18.

I still remember her cute nickname for me Berry, first it was annoying as I was like how can you pronounce my name wrong?! But now I almost miss it.

Suddenly we got woken up when Ava ran into the pack house shouting “rogue!!! Rogue!!” She was clearly in panic mode. Her dad, my gamma, Casper said “breathe, breathe, where did you see the rogue?”

“By the lake and there was a human too, she tried to safe me”

F*ck I though to myself a human being killed in the borders of my territory is bad as is the rogue.

The few wolves around me already started moving, didn’t had to give out orders as they knew how bad this could be. We all quickly ran out of the house shifting into hour wolves.

“Ellie and Josh go around the lake and block the rogue if he tries to make a run for it” I said in mindlink. They changed course straight away as I got a “yes Alpha” back of them through mindlink.

“The rest please follow but be careful as rogues can be unpredictable!”

Another “yes Alpha” followed.

As we where getting near the lake I started to smell this lovely buttery pasty like smell, making my mouth water. “Could it be our mate?” Bear said.

“Let’s find out” I said back as we kept running towards the lake. Once we where getting closer we could smell the rogue and a dog? There is a dog in wolf territory? What dog would do that?

Anyway let out a howl and the rest followed. Suddenly I started smelling blood as well, I made a run for it as quick as my paws would carry me.

As soon as I saw her, with the rogue biting on her arm, I lost it. I jumped and tackled down the rogue. He tried to fight me off but it was child’s play, after he tried to jump on me twice I saw a window and ripped off his head! Letting out another howl to let my pack and friends now the rogue is dealt with.

I looked back where the girl was, and I didn’t see her. Quickly started sniffing the air and following a trail into the forest. She didn’t get far only a couple of meters, when I almost got to her this dog started to growl at me! He got some serious balls! So I growled back and he ran away as quick as he could, suddenly I heard her call “Merlin!” s**t it must be her dog.

I quickly mindlink my surrounding pack members to go and find the dog, without harming it. I slowly gone around in a big circle, and I knew she should be able to see me by now.

I look into her eyes, the same eyes from almost 10 years ago. My wolf going wild in my head “mate, mate , mate! MATE!”

I pinched my eyes close and said “can you shut it please, I don’t wanna lose my brain and scare her even more”

But when I opened my eyes I found that hers where closing. I suddenly though of the rogue that bit down on her arm and looked down, it looked horrible and she was losing blood quick. I shifted back as quickly as I could, and lifted her up to bring her to the pack hospital.

“Dr Andy please prep for a human, she got a massive bite wound on her arm, she is also my mate”

“Right away Alpha, also congratulations for finding your mate” was his response.

I wiped out some hairs of my mate’s face realising I never knew her name, even though we have met before and I quickly whisper

“Your gonna be fine, I got you”

She then very quietly said “Berry?” If I didn’t had wolf hearing I wouldn’t have heard what she would have said.

My hart glowed knowing she still knew who I was!
