I stood outside the cell, and my heart sank at the unexpected sight of Clark with Mallory. My mate and my brother seemed to be in a relaxed and hearty conversation, something that I never experienced with Mallory. A mixture of jealousy and insecurity filled me.
I wanted so badly to confront them but I knew better than that. Instead of letting my clouded judgment take over, I decided to retreat back to my office and drown myself with alcohol. I knew it was an unhealthy way to cope but what can I do?
