​I watched as she sat perfectly still on the bed for a long moment, completely ignoring my commanding tone. Then, she slowly stood up from the mattress and looked me dead in the eye. ​"Did I ever once stand here and complain to you about this place, Desmond?" she asked, her voice dripping with cold indifference. "I actually like it down here. I truly wish you could just stay away from my personal business from now on. Besides, if there was always another empty room available in this house, why exactly was I forced into this storage room in the first place?" ​I looked at her face, and the words died in my throat.
