I stared up at Lily in absolute shock the moment those wild words left her mouth. Panic surged through my chest, and I scrambled to grab her hands, trying desperately to stop her from going any further. I didn't want her entire life to be ruined because of me. I couldn't bear the thought of her suffering, or being left completely without a mate, all because she had chosen to stand up and defend my broken life.
