"Alpha, are you okay?"
I heard Max's frantic voice the exact moment he rushed down the corridor toward me. Driven by pure, unbridled fury, I didn't let him finish his sentence. I lunged forward, grabbed him by the front of his jacket, and pinned his body hard against the stone wall.
"Where exactly did he take her?" I yelled directly into his face, my voice cracking with rage. When he didn't answer immediately, I struck him hard across the chest, slamming him against the wall a second time while barking out the exact same question. "Where is she, Max?"
Max gripped my wrists, struggling to find his footing against the vertical surface. "Alpha, you need to calm down right now. You are completely losing control of yourself."
