Xander sits down on the bed and I raise my eyebrow at him "boyfriend huh?" he chuckles " yeah sorry about that I just thought it would sound better than me saying 'hey I’m your daughter’s shrink' and I think it will finally get your parents off your back so I though we could fake it until they stop pestering you, don’t worry love I’m not that bad" he says smirking

"knock knock" the doctor steps inside the room "miss Rubel you will be discharged in one hour come back if you feel sick or nausea at anytime" the doctor gives me my papers and I sign it giving the clipboard back and he leaves "hey I know its bad timing but would you mind giving me a ride home I would walk but I have Emmie with me" his eyes widen " you would have walked? Tessa its dark and raining did you walk last time you had a session?" he questions me "yes I would have walked Brandon was my ride tonight and he left, no I didn’t walk last time I had my car" I answer "yes I will take you guys home" I thank him and get up straighten out my dress and pull on my shoes Xander hands me my jacket and I warp Emma up in it so that she won’t get cold and walked out with Xander behind me walking out into the parking lot the rain soaking my clothes I pull the jacket over Emma to shield her from the rain.

Xander laid Emmie down in the guest bedroom and I switched on the lava lamp I have and I switched on the lava lamp I have here just for her. I flop down on my plastic covered couch throwing my keys on the coffee table Xander soon follows "you never did tell me what happened when you were in high school love" I sigh I might as well tell him since my parents might talk about it on the trip and since he's my phycologist anyway I slip off my shoes grabbed the photograph of me and Elly the day she was born and a photo album from my childhood handing it to Xander he looks up at me confused as he opens the album I go into the kitchen grabbing a bottle of wine and two glasses I pull out the cork and fill the glasses sitting back down next to Xander on the couch handing him a glass I pull my legs onto the couch crossing my legs and begin "my parents weren't always rich we only had enough money to get by every month but I was so stressed with school and my brother getting into fights I always covered for him and that lead me to stress eating food became my life I don't even know where I got so much food to the point I became overweight " Xander flips through the pages "so this was you" he points to me I was so fat I use to break chair when I sat on them "yeah that's me when I was sixteen I one of the guys from my school showed interest in me and I stupidly gave myself to him at a party only to wake up the next moring to find he was gone and even ignored me after that night but a two weeks later I peed on five sticks and all showed the same thing so after he made me the laughing stock of the school I made a deal with the school If I write and pass every test they give me they will give me my graduation diploma so my pregnant a*s stayed home and studied" I say sipping my wine as Xander finally makes it to my high school pictures "I'm guessing it went well since you have a PHD and three degrees" he says and I nod " so I passed and a week after my birthday my baby girl was born I named her Elly I was overjoyed seeing her after nine months of just talking to my belly, to look into her big eyes and let her small hand hold my finger. she's the best thing that ever happened to me but, she was" I say sipping my wine tears burning my eyes "was?" Xander questions closing the album and looking at the framed photograph of me and Elly in the delivery room.

"she was an angel she wasn't a fussy baby but six months later she got sick I took her to the hospital something was wrong with her heart but they didn't know what they kept her in an incubator I couldn't hold my baby girl and I watched them run so many tests and nothing worked I watched her though a glass wall not being able to touch or hold her three days after I took her to the hospital her heart flat lined they did all they could but they couldn't save her. a piece of me died that day" my heartaches as tears stream down my face as I stare at the photo in his hands "after her death I couldn't stay home it reminded me too much of her absence so I took the money I saved up from working through the years and went to university and studied medicine hoping I could find the cure for what happened to Elly and help people that have the same problem or condition I thought it would make me feel that she didn't die for nothing. after her death I couldn't eat so I ate almost nothing I lost a lot of weight but my brother came to me one day and set me straight so I started to eat again normal amounts. I got into fitness and joined a gym on campus and worked out everyday to channel my pain." I sit the empty glass of wine down wiping my tears away but its no use so I let the tears flow Xander pulls me onto his lap cradling me in his arms whispering apologies and sweet nothing to me "its okay to be upset Tessa" he kisses my forehead I know I just miss her so much, I'm actually happy they gave their baby her name it feels like she's stay part of the family that way" I lay my head on his chest taking in his scent feeling myself calm down.

"stay at my place tonight, I don't think you should be alone tonight" Xander offers "we could stay here"i say "not to sound rude love but, everything's covered in plastic and your walls are wet" oh yeah I forgot about that "fine, but I'm not putting on shoes" I sigh and his chuckle vibrates though him, getting up and pack my pj's in my hand bag with some underwear and meet Xander outside, we take his car the cars flashes by I didn't even keep track of where we are until the car stopped in front of a ten story building he opens the door for me helping me out of the car, locking his hand in mine he leads me to the entrance of the building a guy in the lobby nods at Xander and gets the elevator for us the elevator dings and the doors slid open we step inside and he presses the button for the 7th floor elevator music hums softly as we move upward until we hit the right floor and the doors slide open into a hallway with three doors one on the right, one to the left and one at the end of the hall Xander leads me to the one at the end of the hall unlocking it.

Xander has a huge penthouse the door opens into a living room with sleek black couches a big tv with bookshelves on each side of the tv the one entire wall is entirely made of windows from the floor to the ceiling a modern kitchen to the right of the penthouse and past the kitchen and living room there's a hallway which I suppose leads to the bedrooms, it all feels so homey. a old lady sits in the living room watching Tv she sees Xander and says goodbye leaving, well that was weird "you'll be bunking with me tonight love so make yourself at home" he throws his jacket on one of couches vanishes into the kitchen my feet automatically take me towards the bookshelf feeling the soft smooth teal coloured rug under my feet ,the very bottom of the shelf was only psychology books and the middle was every kind of novel you could think of romance,action,adventure he even has the real stories of the classic kid books my fingers skim over Alice in wonder land I remember reading this book over and over again never getting enough of it. I was a huge bookworm when I was a kid always late for class because of an unmissable adventure hiding in the pages of some book. Books intrigued me books made me feel like I was living a different life almost like I was the character jumping from vine to vine, riding on magic carpets, finding prince charming but when I got older the books got more intense since the classics didn't do it for me so I became the wild and weird character of Indiana jones, Elizabeth Bennete and Anastasia steel..."please pay no attention to the children's books" Xander laughs interrupting my daydreaming I smile him and thank him as he hands me a black mug with coffee shoving his hands in his pants pocket" I was shocked too see you had the original classics for children's books like Cinderella, jack and the bean stalk and my personal faveroit Alice in wonder land" I sip the coffee my eyes raking over the top of the bookshelf "yeah I don't like how they look the real story cut out most of the truth and made it more child friendly so I bought the originals for myself and I keep the children's copies around for entertainment" I nod in agreement he notices my eyes focusing on the top shelf "ahh eyeing the books I've written are we" he nudges me I didn't know you were a writer how many books have you written?" I question running my thumb over the rim of my cup before taking another slip "twenty three, I had three years of time to get things to do to keep y mind off of things so I started writing even wrote a couple of children's books but most are romance, fantasy and even some erotica." he steps closer to me his smell invading my nose he licks his bottom lip "anything I would know?"

a smug look plastered on his face I think you know exactly the type love, the type where the girl likes to get s*****d making her moan and ride the guy like its the last d**k she will ever have' he winks with a devilish smile running his hand through his hair my face turns crimson red "Ca..can I use your shower please" I stammer trying to save myself from the conversation, he chuckles "sure love let me show you the way" he leads me through the hallway walking past a bathroom the light flowing into room across the hall I couldn't make out much of what was in the room because the bedroom door was halfway closed, that's strange. he leads me past a room that looked like his study and another bedroom before opening the door at the end of the hallway to reveal a king size bed covered in black and dark blue sheets and covers with white pillows the bed stood against a navy blue wall and to the left was floor to ceiling windows with a glass sliding door revealing a balcony, next to the bedroom door was two doors that I guess leads to the closet. he leads me to the grey door on the right side of the room and pushes the door open further "you can use this bathroom tonight ill be outside on the balcony if you need me I need to make a few phone calls" he walks to the foot of the bed taking out his phone and take off his shoes. I turn around and step into the bathroom pushing the door with my foot to close it the bathroom had a huge tub in the corner and a shower big enough to fit three people, a dark oak vanity with his and hers basins this bathroom is the size of my entire bedroom. I adjust the temperature of the water, strip off my clothes and get in the shower enjoying the warm water rolling down my body. I stand there enjoying the water just letting my body relax before grabbing some of hid body was and scrubbing my body. I dry myself off and wrap the white fluffy towel around my body taking out my a small bag with bathroom essentials out of my handbag and my phone I listen to some music whilst I brush my teeth and come the knots out of my hair tying my raven black hair in a messy bun pulling on my clean fresh undergarments and my pjs then throw everything back in my bag and after up my clothes scattered on the white tiles.

Xander was where he said he would be, outside on the balcony talking on his phone I put my stuff down on a chair behind the door I made myself comfortable on the left side of the bed crawling under the covers watching Xander through the windows as I try to listen to what he is saying "its just for a week and then ill pick him up myself if I have to" he explains, who's he talking about? I know its none of my business but I cant help but wonder "thank you don't worry he will be ready by tomorrow, goodnight" he hangs up and appears in the door in nothing but low hanging boxer shorts exposing his deep v-line dip and his rock hard chest...oh dear lordy he's trying to kill me. I see you have made yourself quite comfortable snuggled up in my bed" he winks striding over to the bed I would have been perfectly fine in the quest room we passed but you insisted I be your roommate tease, he sits down on the bed his back resting on the headboard "its for your own good come moring you'll see why" he explains but I furrow my brows confused he just shrugs it off and continues "and speaking of tomorrow I have to call my parents" he dials a number on his phone leaving it on speaker "Hello Darling" a cheerful feminine voice chirps which I guess is his mother "hi mum is dad there I have a surprise for you but I need both you and dad to listen" he says and smiles at me when we hear his mother calling his father "we're here darling what's the surprise?" the eagerness evident in her voice I have a girlfriends and before you get angry for me not telling you about her, her family invited us on a trip to Greece for two weeks so then you guys can get to know her" he says nervously its a strange sight to see him nervous "that's absolutely marvellous darling we would love to join just let us know when, oh darling I cant wait to meet your girlfriend its been ages since you last had someone in your life"

"okay mum no need to get into too much detail of my life, we fly through tomorrow night and well meet you there I'll send you the location and flight plans goodnight" he says and his parents agree and bid us goodnight. when he hangs up he lets go of a sigh "good to know I'm not the only one who hasn't been in a relation ship in ages" I tease, he scoffs rolling his eyes "goodnight Xander" "goodnight Tessa" he strokes my cheek with his fingers and climb under the covers rolling on to his side his back facing away from me, I roll over that we are laying back against back.
