When Mia was on her way to school, she felt so nervous and excited at the same time as she was going to see Eric again. As she walks through the hall, her heart beats so fast like a drum. As she entered the classroom, she met Eric’s eyes and he smiled. Mia smiled back and her heart beat even faster. She took a seat and texted her Mom letting her know that she had arrived at school. While Mia was busy on her phone, someone gently tapped on her shoulder. “Hey Mia!” Eric said with a nervous voice. Mia immediately smiled when she turned and knew that it was Eric. They both blushed while looking deeply into each other’s eyes. “Oh hey! How are you?” Mia bravely spoke to Eric. “I'm fine, gorgeous. How about you?” Eric responded. “I'm good! Thanks for asking.” Mia said as her stomach was filled with butterflies. “Uhm Mia? May I talk to you for a minute?” Eric asked Mia nervously. Mia agreed and she followed Eric outside to talk. “What do you want to talk about?” Mia said as she chuckled. Eric gathered all his courage and asked Mia. “Would you like to go out with me after school? Let’s have dinner at my favorite restaurant.” Eric paused for a moment, and he slapped himself out of embarrassment for suddenly asking Mia out. Mia giggled and asked Eric. “Are you serious?” “Yes, hehe! It's okay to say no.” Eric said as he nervously laughed and rubbed his neck. “Yes Eric! I would like to go out with you after school.” Mia said, with a big smile on her face. “Holy cow! Really?!” Eric said, as he was totally surprised by Mia’s response. Mia cutely nods and Eric jumps out of excitement, and he gave Mia a quick kiss on her cheek. They both felt shy and romantic excitement. Eric tucked Mia’s hair behind her ear and thanked her for saying yes. “Thank you so much Mia for saying yes. I'll pick you up later at 6pm.” Eric said. Mia smiled and nodded. Eric gave Mia a very tight hug, and she was surprised, and she hugged him back. As the bell rang, they both went back inside their classroom and acted like nothing had happened. Before they took their seats, Mia and Eric gave each other a sweet yet meaningful smile. Hours passed and it was dismissal time. Mia went straight home and asked for her Mom’s permission if she could go to her classmate’s birthday party tonight. Her Mom agreed, but she should be home by 10pm. Mia gladly accepted the deal and quickly ran upstairs to take a shower and glam herself up. Out of excitement about dating her crush, she completely forgot to call Nathan. After Mia took a shower and got all dressed, her phone rang, and she was shocked to see who was video calling her. It was Nathan. She nervously answered Nathan’s call, and he was surprised to see his girl all dressed up. Mia’s hair curled, wearing a black yet revealing short body-fit dress, semi-dark eye shadow, very red lipstick, big round earrings, jewelry and high pointed heels. “Oh my! My baby girl is so pretty! Are you going out, my love? Your dress is so revealing.” Nathan said, as he was totally surprised by his girlfriend’s appearance. “Oh, yeah… I'm going to my classmate’s birthday party. She threw a party and invited all the girls in our class and all of her girlfriends. Don't worry, my love, she didn’t invite any guys to her party. My best friend Emma is coming with me.” Mia nervously explained and Nathan believed her lies. With full of love and trust, he agreed. “Okay my love. I trust you and you girls have fun. Please don't come home late. Please call me when you get back home.” Nathan said. “Yeah! Thanks! I will. Bye!” Mia hastily replied. “Bye! Talk to you again soon. I love y-” Mia hung up the call when she heard a car’s horn beep outside. She rushed to go downstairs, said goodbye to her Mom and left. The moment she went inside Eric’s car, he was too stunned to speak by how Mia looked. As Eric was reaching for the seat belt for Mia, their hearts beat so fast because their faces were so close to each other. They both laughed and felt shy at the same time. As they were driving to Eric’s favorite restaurant, the two were so silent. Thinking about what topic to talk about. When they arrived at the steakhouse, Eric opened the car door for Mia, and he held her hand as she got out of the car. The two went inside and chose where to sit. When the two had chosen a seat, Eric pulled out the chair for Mia and she took a seat. “Shall we order now?” Eric asked Mia. Mia cutely nodded and Eric called the waiter to take their orders. “Yes sir, may I take your orders?” The waiter asked. “What do you want to eat, gorgeous?” Eric asked Mia while looking at her with full of sparks in his eyes. “I'll have a steak and wine please. Thank you!” Mia responded. “I'll have a steak and wine also, please.” Eric said. “Alright Ma’am and Sir, your order will be served in 20–30 minutes.” The waiter said before he left the two alone. Mia and Eric thanked the waiter. While waiting for their order, Eric couldn’t get his eyes off Mia. They kept smiling at each other and trying to get rid of the feeling of nervousness. “So Mia, what dessert do you want after our dinner?” Eric said as he was trying to have a conversation with Mia. “I want mango float. How about you?” Mia replied. “I want you,” Eric said with a serious face. Mia was speechless, and she blushed about what Eric said. “S-sorry! I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable about what I’ve said. I'm just joking around. You’re too serious. Hehe!” Eric said as he quickly took back what he said, so Mia wouldn’t feel uncomfortable around him. “It's okay. No worries! You too, you’re so serious haha!” Mia said as she gently touched Eric’s hand. They both smiled and soon, their orders came. The two had a lovely dinner. They kept talking and laughing the entire time while eating. Eric suddenly stopped talking, and he stared at Mia again. Mia stopped talking and also stared at Eric. “Uhm Mia…” Eric nervously said. “Mhm?” Mia answered with a curious look on her face. “I uh… I can’t keep this a secret anymore. I love you Mia. I always have. I have liked you since the first day of school. I could never forget the day I first laid my eyes on you.” Eric said as he sincerely confessed what he truly felt for Mia. “E-Eric… I… I have liked you too since the first day of school, but unfortunately, we can’t be together because I'm already in a relationship. I have a long-distance boyfriend. I'm really sorry Eric.” Mia straightforwardly rejected Eric’s confession. Eric looked so upset, but the fire in his soul had never been put out. “But you two are very far from each other. He wouldn’t know if we secretly dated.” Eric said, as he strongly made his reason for dating Mia secretly. Mia was speechless and Eric slowly leaned closer and kissed Mia on her lips. She was surprised when Eric kissed her. “Waiter! The bill please. Eric, please take me home now.” Mia said, as she was having a confused feeling deep inside her heart. After Eric paid for their dinner, they left and as soon as they got inside the car, Mia was still too stunned to speak. Eric held Mia’s chin and gently pressed his lips against her lips. “Eric! We can’t do this! Mia said as she had flashbacks that she and Nathan were kissing. Eric continued kissing her and Mia gave in and kissed him back. “I want you. I want to have you in my life so badly, Mia.” Eric whispered. “Eric, please… We can’t do this! Just please… Take me home now.” Mia said as she gently pushed Eric. While driving home, Mia was just silent along the way. When they arrived at Mia’s house, Mia just said goodbye and thanked Eric for the dinner without even looking at him. As Mia entered their house, her Mom was sitting on the sofa waiting for her to come home. “Hey sweetie! How was the party?” Mia’s Mom asked. “It was good,” Mia replied in a cold voice. “Is there something wrong, hon?” Mia’s Mom asked as she can tell by the look on her daughter’s face that something was wrong. “No, nothing is wrong Mom. Everything is great. Just exhausted tonight.” Mia said as she was trying to make her Mom believe that nothing was totally wrong. “Alright honey, go upstairs now and get some rest. I love you.” Mia’s Mom’s sweet response. “Okay. I love you too, Mom.” Mia replied. Mia went upstairs to wash up, get dressed for bed, and take a rest. After washing up and getting dressed for bed, Mia was just lying on her bed while staring at the ceiling thinking about her date night with Eric earlier. Mia deeply thought about Eric’s idea of secretly going out with her. Mia realized that Eric’s idea was very wrong, and she decided to cut the strings attached between them and forget all about what happened on their date night and just remain as friends. Mia swore to herself that no more romantic feelings and no more strings attached between them. Mia had fully decided to tell Eric about it on Monday.
