Chapter 4

Winter's Point of View

What’s that smell? Have I finally found my mate? Who is he? What does he look like? There are so many questions swarming my mind as I’m stepping out of the vehicle, it doesn’t help that my parents bombard me as soon as I step out. Wait?! My parents? How’d they know I was coming here? My parents look the same. How did they recognize me? It’s been eight years, my questions only seem to make me more and more overwhelmed.

I’m not used to affection anymore, so when they go to wrap their arms around me, I flinch. “I’m sorry, I think it might just take me some time to get used to physical touch again.” I apologized. “No worries' sweetheart we understand, but what happened to you there, you used to be so affectionate.” They ask worriedly “I will tell you in due time I just need a moment” just then autumn walks out of the car and everyone shows their teeth to her growling “Autumn is with me, if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be here today.” I say sternly I hear tons of apologies being thrown out in the air towards me and Autumn.

My parents and the beta start to lead me to what I'm guessing is the Alfa’s office, but that’s when I notice the scent keeps getting stronger and stronger. It is overwhelming me and I ask to sit and take a second because I’m so out of breath. They all look at me weirdly. “There’s just been a lot going on today, and I'm starting to get overwhelmed,” I say shyly, not wanting to tell them that I'm getting overwhelmed by a scent. I just got my parents back. I don’t want to crush them already by telling them I might have found my mate. We rest for a moment, after I gathered myself, I get up to start walking towards the Alfa’s office.

It takes a few knocks for the Alfa to answer the door, but I notice the scent is coming strongest from the other side of the door. My heart stops when he tells us to come in. As soon as he sees me, he drops to his knees. Everyone in the room is confused as to why he’s acting like this, everyone except me. “MATE!!!” I say dominantly. Everyone whips their head at me like they didn’t quite hear me correctly. He gets up and slowly walks towards me. As soon as he tries to reach out for me, I flinch and cower back, bowing my head. “Alfa,” I say meekly, losing my voice. "Luna," he says just as softly. He catches me off guard and I look up into his beautiful eyes. My mate is handsome with his jet-black hair and vibrant blue eyes. He’s wearing a navy button-up with black slacks that just accentuates his muscular build. Goddess, he’s gorgeous. I'm practically drooling at the sight before me. I want to reach out and touch his face, but I'm too scared to. What if he doesn't like my touch, what if he’s just putting on a show in front of everyone else? Questions keep running through my head over and over again, and I can't handle it. I choked out a sob when the thought of him rejecting me and not loving me pops into my mind. I start to feel dizzy like I'm about to pass out and just as that thought comes to my mind, everything turns black as I feel the alfa’s arms wrap around me to prevent me from hitting the ground. The last thing I heard was, “Someone get the doctor now!!!!”

Blake's Point of View

She starts crying, and I keep asking myself what I did wrong. Then I see her eyes shut as she starts falling to the ground. “She fainted,” My wolf, Axle, says. “Well, no sh*t I can see that Axle,” but he doesn’t say anything. He is pacing and whining in my head. “Axle, what’s wrong?” I ask. He never acts like that, and it's making me nervous. “We need to tighten up the border, we need to keep her safe.” He orders, It catches me off guard because he never orders me around. “Care to share what’s going on bud” “Yeah he’s got a chip in her that can also inject high doses of wolfsbane in it if she decides to run, it's almost enough to kill her.” What my wolf says fills me with white-hot rage “he knows where she is? She might die all for that mother f***ers selfish pleasure! I'm GOING TO RIP HIS SPINE FROM HIS F***ING THROAT AND TEAR HIM APART LIMB FROM LIMB!!!!” I scream to my wolf, but on the outside I'm crying while holding my unconscious mate. I just got her. I cant lose her now please Moon Goddess don’t do this to me. I beg the Moon Goddess. Axle is whimpering in my head, it's making me go crazy.
