Chapter 6
Domingo Wells
Domingo Wells stepped up onto the boardwalk in front of the drugstore in Bozeman Montana. The job he held there was what amounted to a security guard. He didn’t like it. He had once been the sheriff of a small town in South Dakota called Wolf Creek. That job ended when he spent about three weeks chasing a man he believed had evidence in a vigilante hanging.
It was a long chase and to cover his position in town he sent a trail hand from the posse back to fill in for him. The trail hand’s name was Sam Edgewood. Some of the evidence the sheriff needed was in the form of the 30-30 the victim of the hanging had used in the shooting that got him hanged. He sent that back with Edgewood for safe keeping.
