Concordia left the papers and map with Miss Phillips and returned to Willow Cottage. She looked around her quarters. Where could she hide the amulet? Someone determined enough to kill Colonel Adams would easily tear through her rooms and find whatever hiding place she’d naively decided upon. Her best course, she decided, was to keep it upon her person. She slipped it into her skirt pocket. It felt a bit heavy there, but wasn’t cumbersome.
