He was a distraction
A distraction,
He existed.
But not a disliked one.
I never knew I needed him,
To just stay,
To be glimpsed from afar,
As if he is a piece of art.
He would pop into my head,
And stay there as long as he could.
He would be there,
When the morning sun strikes the day,
And not go back until I snooze the night away.
And it might have been diverting me a whole lot,
As long as he was the reason,
It didn't matter as much.
If he was the reason,
If he was the reason for my happiness,
Let him be.
Let him attack my mind,
Let him make me his.
Although that might never be true,
I wish it did.
He was more than just a direction I wandered into,
More than just a bothering distraction.
He was who I wished to be with.
He was who I wanted to spend the day with.
But alas, wouldn't it be merry if that was the case?
Thy through the minds,
He stayed and never once left.
And I didn't want him to,
But I wish he was more than a thought or yearning. I wish he was more than a distraction.
