A month had passed with no sign of Hernandez returning. At least, not when Kaiya was working in the office. There were a few times John called to let her know that he wouldn’t need her for the day. Ethan seemed to be working in-house more often, occasionally stopping by just to talk. He never pressed, though he could sense the layers of self-preservation within the girl. John had told him there was a history and that was all he needed to know.
Kai shared her run-in with Mr. Hernandez with Alex, James, and Ace. Though Alex mentioned bringing him up with the others back home, Kai refused. She didn’t want to cause unnecessary worry until they figured out what Hernandez is, and what he was playing at. She did, however, make sure Alex shared the other information she found with the others
