The Assignment
I discover the city and learn most of the rules within a few days. I begin to develop a comfortable schedule when Shadow summons me.
“I have an assignment for you,” he starts without preliminaries as soon as I step into the musty smelling room we’ve first met in. “The disguise with your grandfather would be ideal for it. You rent a room in the Golden Goose, find out which room the man wearing a cape with a Lion stays in, and hide these items in his luggage.” He instructs me, holding the now-familiar dagger and a piece of paper. “You stay the night, have breakfast there and observe what happens. After that, you come here and report to me. I pay for the accommodation, and upon finishing the assignment half silver will be deducted from your fine.”
