Chapter five

1123 Words
Nothing could quell my fears; I'd been searching for Dave for an hour as I retraced along the route after the bus had left, but there was no sight of his shadow "Dave, where are you?" I wondered, my eyes swimming in tears. I missed him; his killer smile, the dazzle in his eyes, his charm, his rib-tickling jokes, his warm kisses- everything! My eyes roved for him with no trace. Tired and desperate, I noticed a tree stump near the road, hitched on it and crouched, my flair skirt rucked upon my lap. My heart was replete with fear. Now my going to the city depended on him. I wouldn't be able to survive without him. Dave and I had been friends since childhood. With time, we grew from friends to lovers. It was my mom's dying wish that we get married; "Joanna, my child, promise me you and Dave will never break apart and that you will one day make a beautiful family…" "Yes, mom, Yes." I had promised her. Thereon, you should have seen the smile on her face. I can remember it and her words with a vividness as if it was yesterday. "What would happen if I never get to see him again?" My eyes rolled with tears and one after another, they trickled down my cheeks. It was the continuous honking of the car that curtailed my deep thoughts. I rapidly wiped my face and lifted my head and then saw a sparkling BMW that halted a few metres in front of me. Wow! It was shining beautifully with tinted windows. Seldom in my born days had I seen such a nice car. I gazed at it in admiration for some time. I knew it would soon reel off like the others because I didn't have money to board any. If anything, not until I had seen Dave would I proceed to the city? In a moment, it reversed and hoicked rapidly in front of me. "Huh!" I muttered bewildered. "Why can't they leave me alone?" I grumbled and buried my face between my knees. Then I heard a sweet voice say, "Halloo!" It was this jingling sweet voice that enticed me to look up, and gosh, what did I see? The most charming face there could ever be; a real cutie of a man, young tall light-skinned handsome with curled hair that gleamed on his head, a pointed nose like that of a model, two dimples that enhanced his gorgeous facial features, a set of white teeth. My jaw dropped as soon as I set my eyes on him. He waved at me with a beautiful smile that set my whole body to panic. I returned the smile and stretched out my legs trembling. "Do you mind a lift, lady?" He asked, leaning his chin on the lowered glass window. His gaze! Oh my God! He was domineering me with his piercing gaze that hypnotised me and made me weak and weaker making a strong desire ascend through me. I bit my lip and my nails simultaneously, unable to control myself. He opened the door and set out his feet on the ground. Ho, ho! He was a devil- a Lucifer that bewitched me with juju. I'd heard such stories of witches who turned into humans during the day and monsters at night; bloodsuckers who presented themselves disguised as angels. "This might be one of them." I thought. However, my feelings were too strong for me to recoil from him. Only Dave could dampen them. This dude appeared more fanciable when he came out. My heart was tingling pa, pa, pa and then it hammered violently as he came closer. He looked more like the picture I had seen in Milly's magazine- a deity! He was dripping like honey! He had a golden wristwatch and a chain along his neck, well-polished black shoes that could easily portray anyone's reflection like a mirror. He was a hot dandy- I mean exceedingly hot! My body was on fire and a pang of fear overwhelmed me. My heart was screaming; "Dave, I am drowning in the depth of hell, please come and rescue me." This was my doomsday. If Dave didn't show up in time... "Are you heading to the city? Do you mind a lift?" He asked softly standing right in front of me, his sweet scent of the perfume intoxicating me. I closed my eyes and flared my nostrils, inhaling the good feeling. It was too enthralling. "Is he human?" I muttered, "Joanna, you are dreaming. Don't wake up from this dream." Suddenly I felt his touch and jerked, "Ye..es, I...I" I fumbled while I gazed into his eyes. I was horny. Damn it! Which fool invented l**t? I was never a loose woman until then. "If only Dave can come to my rescue!" I wished. He held my hand and I gulped. I was electrified to the deepest tentacle and almost fainted. My mouth was springing with saliva that made me gulp all the time. My blood became warm as I glimpsed at his hairy chest through the open shirt, "Dave, Dave…" I groaned his name quietly. "Miss, are you okay?" By the way, I am Marcus." He said and imprinted a kiss on my hand. Oh my! He had pressed my switch. I nodded like a fool and chided myself for behaving like one. "Shall we?" He said with a cheery smile and I barely answered but concentrated my gaze on his cute dimples, "Err…are you… , human, S-sir?" My lips trembled as I spoke. He laughed heartily instead and placed my hand seductively to his chest, "Can you feel my heartbeat? He asked, amused. "I could feel the rhythm that sang along with mine. "Joanna you've f****d up like a clown!" A small voice said. I was too infatuated and consumed with l**t that I couldn't think of anything but to ride with this dude. "Then kiss me," I said, consumed by desire. His eyes instantly goggle in a puzzle. Leaning towards me, he cried, "Huh, What did you say?" "What you heard, Sir; kiss me if you are a human, like me." "O-okay, that's funny, but I will gladly submit it. After all, you are a beautiful woman." Propping one arm on the side of the stump, he drew closer pouting. My heart was pounding like a machine while I fancied how great it would feel to kiss such a man. I was curious to know if I would feel the same way as I felt with Dave. His lips had nearly touched mine when I suddenly felt a strong arm haul me off from behind.
