The Evil Alpha Azrael

Chapter 3

Jaylyn's POV

"Jay! Be a dear for me and get the door please?" Mother's voice rang out.

"Alright mum."

I don't think mom had been expecting anyone but my friends were suppose to be coming for a movie night at the pack house. Our pack was formed during a new moon which earned the name 'New Moon Pack.' We had the second largest land in the country but the most powerful wolves. We were also allies to nearly every pack and respected in every aspect. Peace treaties with our pack had been signed all over the region except Black Moon. No one had tried to form a bond with them since Alpha Anthony had k*lled the messenger that was sent many years ago. Word got out that he was transferring his alpha title to his son and unfortunately, all alphas had to be in attendance. His son was 21 and had not been mated as yet, although we believed he wouldn't be granted one due to the crimes of both him and his father.

I on the other hand had just turned 18 two weeks ago and could not wait to meet my mate. My father, Alpha Drake, had been anxious and refused to let me leave the pack's borders in fear that his little girl would leave him at any time. I had simply laughed it off as father being over protective. My older brother Jason had turned 20 the week after my birthday and would take over next year.

As I reached the foyer, I didn't get a chance open the door as it flung open leaving my best friend, Jessica, standing in the doorway in her Minnie Mouse pajamas. On her shoulder was a duffel bag filled with snacks and a large smile spread on her face. She was the only daughter of Beta Julius and was born on the same day as me. Essentially we’d been friends from infants. She also happens to be Jason’s mate and was more than happy to see him in the morning. To say I was excited for them would be an understatement. They haven’t mated as yet because my brother had to leave on a two week trip the day they found out and isn’t returning until tomorrow. She had cried because he had to leave but he assured her that he would be back in no time.

"Are you ready for tonight?" She squealed in excitement.

“Of course I am!” I replied joining in with her squealing.

“What time is Jase suppose to be come home?” She looked at me with puppy dog eyes. I chuckled at the way she tried to enlarge them. Jase was also the nickname we called him.

“He’s coming back tomorrow Jess so let’s have fun and watch movies before he takes you away from me!” Her face dazed with amusement as she agreed.

As I was about to close the door, I heard a howl. That meant the rest of our gang had arrived. There was only four of us. Me, Jess, Gwen and Dillan. Gwen was a friend of ours from we met in elementary while Dillan was the son of our Gamma. Those two were mates as well which left me as the only one without a partner but I didn’t let it bother me. I knew my mate was out there, I had just hoped he waited for me the same way I waited for him.

Gwen and Dillan came through hurriedly as they say I was about to close the door. The minute Gwen stepped in, the three of us began to squeal again.

“Girls! Girls!” My Father voice filtered into the room. He had a smile on his face as she laughed at how excited we were. “All that squealing and the movies hasn’t even started yet?”

“ Oh sweetie, you know how they get every time they’re together.” Mums voice called out. She was in the kitchen baking us homemade cookies and the smell made my mouth water. Dad greeted her by kissing her on the lips then her forehead. He always looked at mum with admiration in his eyes. I hope my mate will love me the same way dad loves mum.

After grabbing a handful of cookies and running away from mum’s spatula, we entered the pack house theater and got ready for the night. The chairs were moveable so we pushed some against the back wall to have space for our sleeping bags.

“ We should watch a horror.” Dillan suggested. We all loved them so everyone agreed.

“Which one should we watch?” I asked the three of them.

“Chucky!”

“Insidious!”

“Annabelle!”

“Annabelle isn’t scary Jess.” Gwen protested.

“What about the Possession of Hanna Grace?” I told them.

“That sounds really scary Jay. Let’s do it!” Jess agreed and so did the rest of them.

From there our movie night began, mum had brought us more cookies and drinks before going to bed and dad told us to let him know if there was anything else we needed. He then retired to bed as well. Only the Alpha and his family lives in the pack house but people walk through during the day. At this time of night however, there was only us and my parents.

My mind kept drifting to my mate, my other half. I can’t wait to finally set my eyes on him and have him hold me like he didn’t want to let go. He’s probably the most loving and caring person there is. I prayed that I would meet him soon. I don’t care for titles. He didn’t have to be an Alpha, I just wanted him to claim me and run off into our happily ever after. My wolf Hazel began to purr at the thought of our mate.

“Do you think he will love us?” I asked Hazel.

“Of course he will, he’s our mate. Why wouldn’t he? We’re the strongest of our pack and we train the warriors, we bow down to no one and bare our necks to no wolf.”

“You’re definitely right about that. I just hope we find him soon.”

I prayed that he would be a kind wolf, strong but empathetic.
