Forty-Four: Rowyn-1

2269 Words

Forty-Four: RowynSamhain was upon us, and I hadn't even realized it. It had been over a week since I stood in my kitchen and got that phone call. High school kids weren't allowed to wear costumes on campus, so it was easy to forget, or to ignore, until I saw tiny humans dressed as all manner of creature and super hero walking around on their way home from their own class parties. They would be celebrating Halloween tonight, and normally we would be going to The Circle or having people over to eat, to honor our loved ones, and to begin the dark side of the year. I'd come to anxiously await reading Tarot for our friends on Samhain; the energy of the night made for some of the best and most intense readings I'd ever done. The new deck that Reed had bought for me was sitting on my nightstand.
