Phase I; XIII

"I'm late!!" "I'm late!!" "I'm late!!" I ranted as I jumped around my room like a frog trying to catch flies. 'I woke you up severally but it was like a brick had been placed in your ears' Aleka snorted. "Well, whose fault was it that I had to stay up all night doing my homework?!" I retorted before I shoved my toothbrush in my mouth as I arranged my books in my backpack. After I had dinner last night, I went up to my room to complete my overdue homework which I had to submit by the end of this week. It was actually the end of the month that was the deadline but I always made it a habit to submit a week before. But Mrs. ancient spirit wouldn't stop ranting on and on about my handwriting. She kept on complaining that my handwriting ought to be neater than that. She claimed it was too ugly for the Hearani Clan!! Imagine the nerve of that old lady!! After she got tired of complaining about my handwriting, she moved on talking about Dylan. She gushed about his hair, his eyes, and his sweet smile. She even went as far as telling me how beautiful our children were going to look. Like seriously?!! Gross much! "If there was a way to shut this connection, I would do that every time I had to do my homework!" I snapped as I put on a simple grey hoodie on top of my plain jeans. 'Thank the heavens there's no way to do that' she retaliated and I rolled my eyes at her. "Whatever!!" I unlocked my phone to see a message from Dylan but groaned in annoyance when I read the content. -Hey, Nika sweets, won't be able to pick you up today, Freddie acting up, see you in school!!- From D' I grabbed my hair and pulled at the ends as I gritted my teeth in annoyance. "Can this morning be any more irritating?!!" I gritted and yanked my backpack to leave my room after putting on my sneakers. 'Calm down, girl. You rushing it all be making it even worse,' Aleka said. Don't need your advice, it's all your fault, to begin with!! I snapped as I jogged down the stairs. "Aunt! Aunt!" I called as I stepped into the kitchen. I frowned when I didn't see anyone in there, That's weird, she usually wakes me up when I oversleep and now, she wasn't even in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. I moved towards the refrigerator to see a stick-note on it. I plucked it out to read it. -Nika, I had to urgently go to a seminar. Sorry, there are some pastries in the fridge, have that with some yogurt, love you- At this point, I banged my head in the fridge. Why is everyone leaving me on my own today?! 'Hey, I'm here' Aleka chipped in and I glared at her. At the air but she knew it was directed to her. 'Okay, I get it, I'll shut up' I reluctantly took the pastries and a bottle of yogurt drink and shoved it into my bag for lunch. I had to take the bus as Dylan won't pick me up today. Woohoo! Great day! I took my keys and grabbed my things to leave the house. As I walked down to the bus stop, I felt something moist under my shoe. No, Please no, No, God, no! I glanced down to see that I had stepped on dog poop. Snap it! Greatest day ever!!
