took a deep breath in and another out, another in and another out. I couldn't snap in frustration because I was in the middle of the streets. God, this morning has been shitty!!! 'Andro-' Don't even start, Aleka!! I cleaned my shoe on the pavement and noticed a few passers-by snickering at me. It took me a split second to snap at them. Why can't people just mind their own business?!!! I stomped my feet angrily towards the bus stop and thankfully, the bus came in a few minutes later and we drove to school in silence. I took a look at my watch and I noticed that I had just three minutes before the first period. As soon as the bus stopped, I jumped out of the bus and ran down into the school as I panted all the way to the class. I pushed the door open and all at once, eyes moved towards my direction. Not to mention, the teacher was already in class. Shoot me! I understand why they were all staring at me weirdly, I couldn't remember the last time I was this late to class. I have always been the perfect student with perfect attendance, great behavior, and straight As. Me coming into class late was bound to raise a few heads. Thanks again, Aleka. I gritted in my head. 'You're welcome' she said. The nerve!!! "Are you okay, Andronika?" Mr. Henry asked. He also seemed shocked to see me in school this late. "Yes, sir. I apologize for coming late" I said. "It's okay, go take a seat, we were just starting" he waved and I stepped into the classroom to sit beside Dylan. "Don't ask, it's been a shitty morning" I gritted before he could ask me anything. I glared at him when he covered his mouth to avoid laughing at me. But still, seeing him smile at me made me ease up a bit. Maybe he has forgiven me for lying to him yesterday? 'Let's hope so because he seemed pretty mad' Aleka chipped in and I directed my glare to her. 'Sorry' she mumbled. I shrugged off the bad vibes from the events of this morning and took out my notebook as the class began. But the more time passed, the more I felt uneasy. I couldn't pinpoint why and what was making me feel so but... Something just wasn't right to me. I turned back to check if someone was watching me from behind but no one was. Everyone was either engrossed in the lecture or their eyes were downcast in boredom. What was wrong? I couldn't deny the pit that was in my stomach as time went by. My palms were getting sweaty and I kept on tapping my feet against the floor to ease up my nerves but it wasn't getting any better. "Hey, you okay?" I felt a hand on my thigh and I looked beside me to see Dylan staring down at me in concern. "Yeah...it's just..." 'Oh, no' I heard the dread in Aleka's voice before the door opened and stepped in three men in police uniforms. And definitely not happy faces. One of them whispered something to Mr. Henry which made him a nod and step back. As soon as I met eyes with the man who looked like their leader, I knew I was doomed. Two of them moved into the classroom and even a fool could tell that they were heading towards my way. Gut instincts told me to run but my legs were fixated on the ground. "Miss Andronika Rashel, you're under arrest for stealing from the state's museum" I think I just collapsed.
