Julie wasn’t happy at all after hearing the entire truth from her friend. It was heartbreaking to realize that Cathie had been going through such a painful situation all alone. What hurt even more was the nightmare Cathie had been silently carrying… the knowledge that she might never conceive a child, and yet she had chosen to keep it hidden all this time.
But hiding the truth would not do her any favors. If anything, it would only cause more damage and completely shatter the little trust that still remained between her and her father.
“Look, Cathie… I’m really sorry. Truly. I’m sorry for pushing you this far and for what you’ve been through.”
Julie paused before speaking again.
“But think about this carefully,” she continued, her voice now softer.
