Jax was lying in bed wide awake. He picked up his phone to check the time and saw it was after one in the morning. He had yet to fall asleep for the night and knew it was not likely to happen any time soon. Between what Cassie had told him about the case and the sounds coming from Malekai’s bedroom, he doubted there would be any sleep that night.
He tried to push the details of the case out of his head. He knew there would be nothing he could do about it until the morning after Malekai issued the search warrants they needed.
