The unwanted mission

733 Words
Kneeling before the queen, " My queen, I am here as you have summoned," Alistair states cooly yet calmly. The queen motions for him to rise. "Alistair, I thank you for coming with such haste. Lord Marcus has taken the princess. He intends to force a marriage and sire a child with Astrid." The mere thought of Marcus forcing himself on the little princess sends Alistair into a rage. "He shall not lay a hand on Princess Astrid in such a disrespectful and disgraceful manner. I will assemble our strongest battalion to bring Astrid back home to me," Alistair snarls through gritted teeth. "Bring Astrid back home to you? That is a very bold sentiment, Alistair," Princess Belinda does in a menacing cunning way. At that precise moment, Tobias, Draven, Wallace, and Salazar appear at Alistair's side. "No!" Queen Katarina exclaims, raising a hand palm out in a stopping motion. "I do not want the entire kingdom to know about the kidnapping of the princess. It would cause an up roar, and uneasement within the people. The five of you shall travel to Hellsin incognito. You will rescue my daughter and bring her back to me posthaste. You are not to be seen, and if captured, I will deny the kingdoms involvement, placing all accountability souly upon you, Alistair, rendering you and your team rogues, and enemies of the kingdom," Katarina proclaims. "So you will send the five of us to take on Lord Marcus and his army, possibly sending us to our deaths all to rescue your daughter because your palace guards simply could not manage the welfare and safety of a child? What madness is this? I demand to question these so-called incompetent guards," Alistair shouted in fury. Standing swiftly, "You will remember your place, Alistair! You do not make such demands, and you will follow the orders of your queen," the shouted back. "Hoe shall we know if we have Princess Astrid, my queen? I only ask because no one has laid eyes on the princess, so we know not who we are looking for," Tobias cuts in to ease the tension. "OH boys! You will know that you have my little sister Astrid. You simply can not mistake her for any other," Belinda responds coldly and dryly. "This is a suicide mission, Katarina, and you know it," Alistair snears. "Are you not my greatest warriors? My most elite warriors? Your team has never failed a single mission facing worse odds than now," Katarina gloats with a malicious smile. Giving one last menacing glare and growl, Alistair turns and makes his way swiftly down the corridors to the east side of the palace grounds. Once they reach the east grounds, Draven starts pacing back and forth. "Alistair, you know that it is completely impossible to sneak into Hellsin undetected?" " Yes, Draven, we all know. Right now, the five of us need to revise a plan and get it done," Wallace chims in calmly. Wallace standing an even six foot tall, dark-haired, and slender form was always the calmer one out of the five. Being an Earth element warrior, he was always grounded. "Am I the only one that seems to find something extremely wrong with all of this? How is it that not a single stretch of the palace is destroyed, and there is not a single casualty?" Tobias points out. Tobias, being an element of fire, stands at five foot eleven inches, red hair with a more bulky structure. "How do you know of these things, Tobias?" Alistair asks as he turns to face the other four. He instantly notices that Salazar is not amongst the other three. "Where is Salazar?" Alistair asks angered. In that very moment, Salazar lands next to Alistair. "Where have you been, Salazar," Alistair demands to know. "Forgive me. I was casing the palace trying to get a better read on the situation and gather some intell, general. Tobias is correct. We looked around the palace before we joined you in the throne room earlier, sir," admitted Salazar. "What did you find?" Alistair asks. "We found no signs of a struggle or a fight to protect the princess, sir," says Salazar. "In fact, Alistair, there are some of Marcus's men still within the palace walls," Tobias reveals. "There are still some of Marcus's men here now? That gives me an idea," Alistair snickers.
