Back at the palace, Alistair and his team stand just a few meters away from the portal that would take them to Hellsin and to Astrid.
"So, Alistair, you said that you had an idea. Do you care to share your thoughts with the rest of us?" Wallace asks in his usual calm manner. "No-one can enter Hellsin undetected and without alerting the entire kingdom, including Marcus, unless they belong there. Every single guard member in Marcus's army wears a brand that gives off a signal and ranks information within the army. How many of the dark lords men still remain within the grounds, Salazar?" Alistair boldly asks. " Exactly five, sir. I overheard them talking about how they will be returning back to Hellsin soon, Alistair, one other thing; they know that Queen Katarina has dispatched us on this mission, and plan to reveal the information to Marcus," Salazar answers warningly.
"When do they have intentions of making this return?" asks Alistair. "Tonight as soon as the palace is sleeping, under the cover of the night skies darkness," replies Salazar. "It will be dark in three hours, Alistair," Draven declares. "Then we wait in the shadows, unseen or noticed, and when Marcus's guards approach the portal to leave, we will each grab a guard, take him to the caves in the mountains where we will slice his throat, and remove his brand by cutting off that portion of skin. We then apply the branded skin to our own. So make sure to remove enough access skin so that it is possible to cartorize the brand to your own skin without causing damage to the brand and its information understood," Alistair commands. In unison, Tobias, Draven, Wallace, and Salazar all reply, "Yes, sir, general, sir."
Hidden amongst the shadows or within the element in which they contain and control the five warriors sit and wait with patience for the precise moment in which to attack. As the night falls, and the hustle and bustle of daily life in the palace recedes coming to an end for the day, the five soldiers from Marcus's militant army begins to approach the portal as promised. As planned, Alistair and his men quickly and silently swooped up one of the guards, each taking them to the caves within the mountains close by where they enacted the rest of the plan.
Alistair and his men, once deep inside the cave, slice the guards, then filet the brands from the guards shoulder blades, carefully not damaging it with enough extra skin to allow the appliment to their own. Once the five of them have applied the brands, they swiftly head through the portal and the demise of all but one Alistair himself.
Entering the realms of Hellsin undetected looking as if they belonged there, the five warriors begin to head straight to where Astrid was supposed to be held only to find a bunch of dead palace guards and no Astrid.
"The queen has screwed us, Alistair," Draven shouts in fury. "Draven is right, Alistair. By sending in the palace guards ahead of us, she has alerted Marcus to a rescue attempt of the princess. Now Marcus has moved Princess Astrid to a new location, which means all of the information that we extracted from his men we killed is not worthless," Wallace says, remaining calm and grounded as usual.
"I say we abort mission go straight back to that Queen b***h Katarina and let her know how much of a dumbass she is," Tobias said angerly. "No, Tobias. We can not abort the mission. We have never failed a mission, and we will not fail at this one. We simply find a way to blend in seeming as if we belong and we gather the Intel that we need leading us to Astrid," Alistair says in a cool tone. Again in unison formation the other four reply with a "Yes, sir "
With Those words being said the five of them retrieve a nearby hooded cloak to further help conceal their identities, after all they were already wearing the uniforms of the soldiers killed, and who's identity they has assumed. Alistair and his men move about the camp keeping their heads down listening to conversations, observing the coming and going of the orhers, which routes taken, how often and any other crucial information that they might need to help locate the new whereabouts of Princess Astrid.
Reconvening in shared quarters within the encampment a few hours later so that they could sort through and combine the details of the Intel as to which each warrior had previously collected, they come to the agreement that each of them will go just slightly deeper under cover to gain an exact location of Astrid, before they would devise another plan to rescue her. Completing this phase of the mission took all about three days to complete and fulfill, but, in the end, they had the exact location in which the princess was now being held captive by Lord Marcus, and his men.
