The second rescue attempt

705 Words
Now that Alistair and his team know the location of Princess, they set out to the hidden palace in Hellsin where she was taken. Concealed and blending in as one of the guards Alistair and his men manage to gain access inside the palace and move about freely. Taking the time to learn the routes within the palace walls and on the grounds before they make any move to rescue the princess. Long before Alistair and his men had even landed at the palace or left the camp, Alistair gave orders to secure the escape route before searching for Astrid's location. His second command given was that as soon as the route was procured and Astrid located the signal to proceed as planned would be given and the one that had first chance was to get the princess to safety. The others would follow behind as soon as they could, and it was safe to do so. Ester was also to be taken out with Astrid so that no harm would come to her and keep suspicion off any involvement of a guards help giving way for the rest of the team to make it out safely themselves. Alistair and Wallace were the two guards on duty, posted in the dining halls when Princess Astrid entered the room. Alistair is stunned by her beauty to the point that he himself almost cost the entire mission to fail and blow their cover. Wallace noticing what was happening rushes to Alistair's side quickly. "Sir, you need to remain focused before your reactions are noticed by Marcus," Wallace reminds Alistair in a low whisper. Alistair nods and returns to his cold, unfazed demeanor he was to carry and present. Acting as if he was unaffected by Astrid's presence and appearance standing guard like a statue, Alistair kept a watchful eye on the princess from the corner of his eyes. Alistair listens as Marcus's mother continues to belittle the princess, feeling the rage growing within himself. "Where is such anger coming from," Alistair wonders. Upon hearing Princess Astrid's uncanny, yet, witty response to Marcus's mother all while keeping a graceful composiar Alistair can not help, but to let out a slight chuckle. Thankfully, only Wallace overheard it, and to Alistair's surprise, Wallace had a hint of a smile on his face as well. It took every ounce of strength that Alistair had not to fly at Marcus, ripping his head off his shoulders and removing the hand from his body that he had hit Astrid with. It also took the same amount of strength not to shove his sword through the b***h that was the cause of such mistreated to Astrid, Marcus's mother. Watching Astrid's chair hit the floor, seeing them throw her in that cage and apply chains to her like an animal amongst the threats of allowing men to constantly r**e her was far more than Alistair could bare any longer. He did, however, admire the princesses strength, but even still, it was far more than the once stone cols warrior could handle. The words "So be it girl," from Marcus's mother along with the evil laugh the two let out was all Alistair could take. The moment the both of them had left the dining halls, Alistair flew to the cage doors opening them and was at Astrid's side. "Who are you? What do you want with me?" Astrid says, tears streaming down her face as she proceeded to slap at Alistair wildly. "Calm. Princess Astrid, I presume. We are here to get you out of this place and take you home. I am Wallace, and this is" Alistair," Astrid says both of their eyes locked on each other. "Yes. Although the mission is now at a rushed pace since the general has decided to move up the time frame," Wallace concludes as he and Alistair frantically work to remove the chains from Astrid. After all chains and cuffs had been taken off, Astrid stumbled as the three of them prepared to take their leave. Alistair, without hesitation, scoops Astrid up into his arms. "I've got you, my lady." Everything was seemingly going smoothly until Marcus's mother had returned once again to taunt and torment Astrid.
