ChapterThree

Whispers of conversation rang out in the hall. The guests were talking too. They must have their own theories too. 'She's a husband snatcher.' 'She had been quiet all through, who knew she had big plans already. What a backstabbing sister!' They went on and on, every word hitting her like an arrow to her heart. She was accused of something she hadn't done. She was the complete opposite of everything everyone had said but who was going to listen to her? She rose her head again and looked at the very man that caused all of this. He wasn't saying anything anymore but his expression was hard. That was none of her business. She just wanted to know why he'd decided to ruin her life and if possible, he could clear her name at that very moment. "Why are you doing this?" She asked him directly. His brows twitched like he was confused at the question. "Seriously? Have you forgotten so soon?" "Forgotten what?!" She rose her voice. That was the first time she'd ever done that and it was at a multi billionaire who was supposed to be her in-law. "How dare you shout at my son? What gives you the right?!" His mother appears from behind him, her eyes shouting arrows at her. Everyone hated her but why did this woman's hatred hurt even more. She was nobody to her. Why then? "Mrs Grayson, I'm sorry I raised my voice at your son but you have to believe me, I do not know anything about that video." "Alyssa." He called her name again and this time it was beginning to really annoy her. "Please don't call me." She turned to him sharply, her eyes welled with unshed tears, "You planned to tarnish my name and now you've succeeded. Now, let me try and prove that it's all wrong. That cannot be me in that video." "But it is you! This was what you wanted-" "How can this be what I want?! Can you hear yourself?" "Shut up, Alyssa!" Her father thundered. "So you'd planned to ruin your sister's wedding from the very beginning?" He was boiling at this point. "No, dad. No... why would I-" "Oh, please, shut up, Alyssa! Clearly, we all have ears and Michael is saying you planned this. This was what you wanted!" They had all circled her by this time as she slightly shook with anger and hurt. The more she stared at Michael, the more she wanted to just strangle him on the spot. What made him thi- Hold on! That dress... Her mind went back to the video and the dress she wore in that video looked quite familiar. She had worn that dress before. A few months back when she had found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her. She had gotten an anonymous text minutes after her boyfriend, Tyler, had called off their date saying something important came up. The text was short with a picture of the backside of a man that looked like Tyler with his arm swung over her shoulder as they went into a hotel. The text said, 'Your man and his lover... xoxo.' She wanted to dismiss it as just a prank from some haters but then she realized she had no haters. She was barely known by anyone. She had no friends who could be jealous of her relationship so this wasn't some prank. She really didn't want it to bother her but it did. She sat on her bed and thought about it for minutes and then concluded on finding out what exactly was going on. It could be a prank from her boyfriend so she could come and find out and then he'd surprise her but something still told her that wasn't it. She arrived at the hotel half an hour later and just stood there for minutes, having another round of thoughts pouring in. Was this right? Stalking her boyfriend? What if it was just his sister? But then again, he had no sister. A cousin? But why wouldn't he just tell her he had one and wanted to meet up with them. Everything was suspicious and she was about to find out the real truth. The moment she stepped into the hotel, she realized she had no clue where to start from. How was she to know where they were? Just as she was about to turn and leave, she received another anonymous text from the same sender and all that was in the text were three digit numbers. That was the room number. She'd immediately looked around in search for who this sender was but there was no one. No one that looked suspicious enough to send anonymous messages. She slowly went up the elevator, counting her steps as soon as she came out and was heading to the room. Was she doing the right thing? What if it was a business partner? But who hangs an arm around a business partner? She reached the door and stared hard at the number plate on the door. This was it. She was about to know the truth. Was she to knock or just open? She decided on the latter as she heard sounds that sounded somehow sensual. She barged in and found Tyler butt naked, on top of a woman. He immediately moved away from the lady as soon as he noticed her barging entrance. He was beyond shocked. Alyssa couldn't say if she was shocked as her instincts had been telling her he was cheating, but what shocked her was the lady he was cheating on her with. It wasn't just any lady. It was her beloved sister. The one who was engaged to a multi-f*****g-billionaire! It was really funny how the same sister who slept with her own boyfriend and was caught red handed was blasting and cursing her for allegedly having s*x with her fiancée. Isn't that how karma worked? You get back what you give out. That night was horrifying for Alyssa. She stood in the middle of that hotel room waiting. Waiting for an apology or an explanation or atleast an act of remorse from either of them but none said a word. It was like they were patiently waiting for her to exit the room so they could continue from where they stopped. She couldn't bare it any longer and left the room. Her eyes welled up with tears but she held them back until she left the room. She hurriedly rushed down using the stairs. She had bumped into someone who was climbing up the stairs but quickly apologized and went her way without even glancing up at the person. She left the hotel but stopped when she was a few metres away from it. She knew why she was still waiting. Maybe Tyler would have realized what had happened and try to run after her so as to save their relationship. Or her sister, running behind her, begging to be forgiven for having s*x with her boyfriend. Minutes passed but none of those scenarios ever happened. She slowly turned back to the hotel, the lights shining so bright as she stared at them. She immediately decided on something and headed back in. She went straight to the bar with one mission; To drink till she was drop dead drunk. She sat on one of the bar stools, ordering and drinking alone. At the first few shots, she noticed some people looking and even received advances but she gave none a single reply. She was there to drink away her sorrow and not talk about it. That was all she could remember that night. The next day, she had woken up in a hotel room but didn't think too much into it. She had forgotten to ask any staff and none of them even approached her and so she ended up leaving quietly. Now, she regretted not asking because apparently, something happened that night and it was with Michael.
