Panting, I drop to the ground and hit my head on the sink. What sick game is dad playing, how can he use such a nightmare to torment her? Whatever reason dad has to do this to her is punishable. He and I know how nightmares can turn someone into a walking zombie. If he is prolonging the competition by inducing harsh night terrors into the mind of the competitors so that I could return, he has something else coming. My wolf pleads, “please, go back and save her. Be the alpha for her. Our mate is suffering.” My wolf is right but I won’t do what he is saying. I didn’t lose contact with everyone back there only to return, I didn’t sever my link to the pack so that I can give in to things like this.
