(FIVE YEARS AGO)
ALPHA GRAY
Her lips are too red; someone might think she dipped them into camel’s blood. Her black cloak indicates how serious things are.
“Alpha Gray, the Golden Wood Pack will crumble if she and her father are not gone before your son take over.” Sibyl Sheree warns.
I bob my head. I am on board with this. I trust her with my soul.
The wolves in my pack are my responsibilities, as such, I will do everything it takes to ensure those two don’t see the light of the day, a day after the alpha and his daughter depart from their pack.
Sibyl Sheree pushes the basin towards me, the water stirs and then goes still. Two faces come to view. I shudder. They are close. Close that it makes my inner churn.
“See, Alpha Redford and Mirabel Redford are two peas in a pod.” She asserts.
Again, I nod.
Alpha Redford believes in her daughter although she hasn’t transformed yet. In return, her daughter believes in herself every day. “I will be the greatest alpha of all time.” She always tells her father.
I have my werewolves on the ground and they always tell me they train together, dine together, and even take their walks together. They are inseparable. And for fifteen years old, the girl has potential.
“If we do not take them out, she will be your son’s undoing the moment their eyes meet.” Sibyl Sheree continues.
This is the last stroke I needed if I had doubts.
Luckily, I am not skeptical.
I can’t let anyone do that to my son. I have to secure the position of the alpha ship for my son even if he has proved to me time and time again that he doesn’t want it.
How can he not?
Can you imagine him?
I don’t want to think what will happen if she and him cross paths.
He will definitely run off with his tail between his legs.
To avoid this, to avoid any chance of them meeting, I must adhere to all the necessities Sibyl Sheree has put in place, and by the end of it all, my son will come out victorious.
I won’t have to deal with Alpha Redford of the White Moon Pack and his daughter, Mirabel Redford, my son’s downfall.
Witch Amone returns with drinks, and she is accompanied by a man. I guess he is around my son’s age.
“He is perfect for the magic part, furthermore, he heard everything.” Witch Amone says confidently. She isn’t scared that my plan is known to this boy.
“Is it right, boy?” Sibyl Sheree spits.
“NO. I won’t.” He says and stomps off. Oh. Kids these days. They don’t know what sacrifice means.
“He is Xander. The alpha’s son. Don’t fret about him. I will handle it.” Witch Amone assure us and leave.
No wonder Witch Amone wasn’t scared about the boy hearing our plans.
The Purple Bella Pack’s alpha and Luna trusts Witch Amone and Sibyl Sheree. Who am I to doubt what Sibyl Sheree has predicted?
“Okay. We have the date they will leave the pack and the route they will take, it is your work to ensure he is there on time.” Sibyl Sheree says.
I nod. I understand perfectly. Although the one who will carry this activity is unpredictable, I have a lot of days to plan and replan.
I have to practice the perfect speech to tell him so it won’t cause an alarm about the reason behind everything.
“Okay. I won’t fail. Thank you so much, Sibyl Sheree.” I bow.
“Of course. We work together because the moon goddess wants us to, no?” she asks, grinning encouragingly.
It is true. The moon goddess hasn’t complained about me meeting these two. I think it is her plan from the very beginning.
The moon goddess wants to see us prosper. And when there is a challenge, the moon goddess always provides an answer. Directly or indirectly.
This is it.
**************
My son, Spicer Gray has been leaving the pack anytime he wants. And since there is still time, I have left him to be.
However, not today, not when D-day is nearing.
I head to the human town and find him playing with some humans. He has had his fun. Right? His rebellious activities must come to an end.
So, I return home with him. During his birthday ceremony, I announce he will take over the pack. And of course, he doesn’t accept and makes a scene claiming he doesn’t want it.
Such an ungrateful snob.
In the middle of the night, I go to his bedroom, and my mate follows me, the mate who wouldn’t see reasoning even if I explained to her. I push her against the wall and she screeches. I will handle her later.
I grab him and push him against the wall, “you shall take the pack. You shall lead it to prosperity. The Golden Wood Pack is ours.” I scream at him.
He tries to fight me but I am stronger than him. Alphas are always strong. Furthermore, I train harder than him. He has been doing nothing but whine.
He falls with a thud.
I know exactly what will unravel him. What will rile him to throw him off guard. My mate is his weakness.
Smirking, I lower myself and promise him, “I will reject your mother and no one would take her in, no one.”
"Dad, no!” He whimpers.
He is too perfect for the job.
****
Following Sibyl Sheree’s directive, I left him in the forest and returned to the pack.
Here I am, waiting for everything to unfold.
I am not scared of what will happen to him since Alpha Redford and her daughter won’t go with the warriors. How stupid of him to go unguarded? To trust the person who promised to help him get his daughter’s wolf.
Let the show begins.
