At arm's length, Tim confirms for the hundredth time I am okay. He moves my head from side to side and squints at me, “where are the glowing eyes?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Juniper’s radiant orbs.”
Juniper applauds him, “say hi to me, will you?”
“Juniper sends regards. Tim, Juniper’s eyes don’t glow.”
He and Juniper say at the same time, “they did.” This isn’t focal. I have got enough surprises from Juniper for the day.
“I don’t understand why you had stumbled down, crawled back, whimpered in pain, eyes…”
I interject, “Tim, get to the point.”
He withdraws his hands from my face, I hadn’t even noticed they were still there. He places it on his lap and looks at the river, “you fainted at the sight of my wolf when yours is three times bigger than mine, why?”
