Ian Pain tore through my chest like someone had burnt me. It faded quickly but the pain caused me to keel over, landing harshly on my knees, the air pushed violently out of my lungs and heart beat quickened. My wolf on full alert and the demon in me surprised for once. What was that? Nothing had struck me. My eyes widened, no. Michael. Had someone hurt him? I needed to get back to him now. "Are you alright, boy?" A tall lean figure appeared before me. The little vampire hissed like a coiled up rattle snake as she shifted to what I can only assume a protective stance.
