Chapter 10

Ian I was still laughing at Jacks and Kate’s state when Scotty started to lift Jack off the floor. Kev was frozen in position, staring at Kate. “Wait, how do you know.” I looked at Petra. “I can hear their heart beats, quieten down and focus, concentrate all you wolf energy towards Kate's stomach.” Petra smiled. I did just that, and there they were, faint, three little heart beats followed by Kate’s. I jumped up. I was ecstatic, it was about time we had some pups in our family, I loved the pups up in the main house and I knew I’d love these ones even more. They were going to be half my little bro and half our princess. “That is some f*****g fantastic news.” I ran over to take Kate into an embrace when I heard Jack growl. I backed off, he was displaying his dominance and protectiveness over his mate and future pups, I was an unmated wolf while Jack was trying to get his bearings, not his older brother. I flung my hands up in surrender and slowly backed away from Kate. “Pups.” Was the only word Jack had managed so far as I suppressed another laugh, it brought Kate back into the room. They beamed the brightest smiles at each other I had ever seen. Their love engulfed us and filled the room. “Oh my goddess, we going to be uncles.” Kev looked at me in utter disbelief. He kept on repeating the statement and we all laughed. “Jack, you’re going to be a dad.” Kev smiled at him, his aura pleasant as if he was a father patting his child on the back. Kev pretty much was our father since ours was gone. Jack smiled at him. Tears forming in his eyes. Both me and Kev moved forward and flung our arms around Kate and Jack, a family embrace. We hadn’t done this since Kate chose to stay with us. Me and Kev were big burly wolves, but we both shed tears of happiness, our family was expanding and in a safe place. I turned to Petra, “now before you start telling us your story, do you have any other damn surprises up your sleeves.” She smiled at me, “A few.” She winked at me. “Remind me to work on your language young man.” I frowned at her, she sounded like an old grandma giving her grandpup a row for eating all the sweets. We all settled back into our seats, except for Kate how snuggled up to Jack on his lap, the young couple looking extremely happy and content. I could help, but feel a little envy. “Thank you, Moon Luna.” Kate held onto Petra’s hand. “Ha! I only gave you the news Kate, you will now have to do all the work, I will be with you every step of the way.” She smiled at Kate, but I couldn’t help see the flicker of sadness in her look. Now wasn’t the time to ask. “Right you need to see the doc, Kate, and Jack will attend every appointment.” Both nodded at Kev. “No more working at the club Kate.” She frowned at me. “We need the money Ian, for the pups.” I shook my head. “Me and Kev will pitch in, don’t you worry about that.” She signed “I’m pregnant, not an invalid Ian, I want to work.” She c****d her eyebrow at me. “Fine. You can take the early shift at the bar, I’ll talk with the twins, only for the first couple of months, then rest closer to your due date.” Jack nodded and tucked his face in the crock of Kate’s neck. Everyone was in a blissful mood; the room went silent as we all took in the news. Then I turned to Petra, she was smiling at me. “what?” Her smile had meaning, but I couldn’t work it out. “It’s nothing, well, just, you’re such a big scary wolf, who would have thought you could look so soft, Ian.” She laid her hand on my forearm and gave me an even brighter smile. Scotty laughed hard and loud. I growled at him. “You do look soft you big lug.” Scotty howled, making the whole group chuckle. I hated him, a little. “Right, where were we.” I looked around the table, finally feeling I had enough of all the lovey dovey stuff, we needed to get down to business. I looked at Petra. “So who the hell are you?” Petra made an annoyed face and Kev mumbled something about my attitude. “Seriously.” Scotty shook his head. “If someone doesn’t start talking soon, I may lose my head.” I looked back at Petra, and then she laughed. “Okay. Okay. Calm down.” She cleared her throat. “So as I said, I am a Moon Luna, Moon Lunas are special wolves for the pure reason that thousands of years ago the moon goddess gifted one Luna powers, untold and unlimited powers. Mine can only be truly awakened once I have found my mate. Then we will both share my powers once mated.” I looked at the little she- wolf. “So that will explain the thunder bolt.” I sipped my drink. “Yes, sorry about that, I can control it, but you surprised me with that kiss.” Kev growled at me. Petra giggled and patted my arm, looking at Kev. “He did it to protect me.” Kev continued to glare at me. “Bloody man whore.” He hissed. I rolled my eyes. “So that is why Cameron is after you, he wants to mate you, share your powers.” Petra signed. “Not exactly, Scotty. You see only my fated mate will share my powers. I can feel he is close; I believe he is somewhere in Baal City. My wolf can sense him, it’s why we came so close to the border before we were captured and then we were trapped by Cameron. You see, my wolf has something like a homing device fitted into her mind, I suppose it’s one of my powers. She can hunt down her mate, even if he is on the other side of the world, narrowing it down within a certain location. The rest is down to me. To find him.” Petta looked sad. “I don’t get it. If you can only pass on your powers to your mate, then why does Cameron want you?” Scotty was right, why would Cameron want her if he couldn’t use her powers. Kate looked at Petra and, butted into the conversation, “Wow your mate is in the city, you must be excited?” Petra nodded. “Regardless of whether it is with a fated or chosen mate, my pups will carry my powers.” Cameron wanted to turn her into a breeder. Their pups would carry the power and he would use it as a weapon. “I always knew he was a douche.” Petra smirked and nodded at my comment. “You see a Moon Luna only comes around once every couple hundreds of years, I am the only werewolf left on the planet with that knows about my powers. Even the children that the Moon Luna bears are unable to pass on their powers. The Moon Lunas birthed children are stronger; possess more gifts than the mother. My powers are limited and only truly released when I am mated. The child’s powers will be with them from birth.” Petra sighed. “What powers.” Petra laughed at Jacks curiosity. “I’ll explain them later.” “but why do Moon Luna's grace us once every couple of years.” It seemed strange, like I was missing a part of the story. “Balance, there has been a shift among the species. The moon Goddess has sent me and my children to help the werewolves, along with my mate and the eclipse wolves.” I stared at her. What the hell were eclipse wolves. Then I remembered there was an eclipse pack, may be they would help her. “Didn’t she create the Guardians for that?” Jack got his question in before mine. “The Guardians are meant to protect, the Moon Luna’s powers are a weapon, I can’t feel their presence. If there is a Guardian out there, then let’s hope they come to the city as I feel we will need all the help we can get.” “Cameron’s pack isn’t all powerful and mighty, Moon Luna, it’s not a big deal. There are other packs in the city that would wipe out his pack, including the Red Moon pack with our help. What is it you’re not telling us?” Kev looked concerned. “You know we will protect you.” Petra signed. “Please call me Petra. Not all wolves are like you guys, most would do what Cameron done when my mom and I walked onto his pack lands. Plus. There is something coming. Something that threatens the werewolf existence. It’s bigger than Cameron. Plus, I don’t want any wolves to place their lives on the line for me, I won’t have it.” "Wait, where is your mom?" I looked at him with concern. She looked down sad. "THAT BASTARD, WHAT DID HE DO PETRA.” I know I was shouting and deep down I already knew what happened to her mother. That she was now with the moon goddess. Petra fell painfully silent. She had been so strong, but now the small she-wolf looked even smaller. Unshed tears made her eyes look puffy. The rage in me was getting difficult to control, it was taking me all mu power to stay there and not hunt down that monster and kill him. “What is coming?” Scotty seemed focused. Petra seemed to pull herself together. “I don’t know, and I don’t know when, it’s just a feeling I have in the pit of my stomach, its why I need time to hide and then seek my mate.” “It could be wind.” Jack looked at Petra in absolute seriousness. Did he just say that he thought she had wind? Petra burst out laughing and the atmosphere became a bit lighter due to my brothers stupidity. “But it’s our duty to protect the Moon Luna.” Kate looked a Petra with determination. “Rogues, feel the pull more than pack wolves, Kate, because you don’t have a definite leader.” Well I wouldn't say that in front of Justin, then again he wouldn't hold it against us if we just left. “Is that why I wanted to help you, it shouldn’t be because even though we are an MC we have accepted Justin as out Leader.” Petra wearily smiled at me. “Not exactly Ian, you are………… ummmm……...different.” All eyes went to me. “What do you mean different.” I started to panic. “Maybe should talk about this later, I have already laid a lot of information out on the table.” I slammed my hand on the table. “Enough of waiting, tell me everything, including the info on my mate. Now. Petra.” She gulped loudly while the rest of the table growled at me. “Fine. You Ian, are an Eclipse wolf.”
