»I’ll go back in to tell her and be right back with her as soon as we’re ready.« I mumbled. My mood wasn’t in the right place but I was forcing myself to keep his mood up. To do the right thing. I needed to do the right thing, even if I didn’t want to or thought that it wasn’t right for me at all. 

His smile was real. That meant that it worked. That made me feel a little better. He still meant something to me. He meant a lot to me. I didn’t want to hurt him but saying this after this point would’ve been worthless.

 I tried to smile back but I probably looked stupid. I wasn’t good in faking a smile or hiding my feelings. That’s why he knew that I was distant… that’s why he knew that nothing was fine.
