Emilia turned around dejectedly and made her way home as a heavy downpour began, her body felt like it was going to break apart in the next Moment.

She felt numb even to a point that the rain for nothing to her, after all, the cold inside her chest threatening to freeze up her heart was a huge thing compared to the drop of water soaking her whole body.

"Emilia!"

Emilia turned around with great difficulty but upon seeing the person in front of her, her eyes it up immediately.

"Jeremy??, You're back!!?"

The man standing in front of her was very tall and handsome, he had an umbrella over his head but immediately he was just an inch close to her, a look of pure concern flashed across his eyes.

Then he pulled out his jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders, dabbing her with comfortable warmth.

"Who did this to you?" Jeremy asked placing the umbrella over her head, completely shielding her from the harsh cold.

"I....I....I lost them Jeremy"

Upon seeing Jeremy, it felt like all the emotions she tried her best to conceal had been exposed and she bared herself in front of him.

Jeremy wanted to ask who the supposed "them" was but upon seeing the state his childhood friend was in, he couldn't bring himself to ask her such a question when she was in a State of breakdown.

"I...I couldn't protect them Jeremy, Am such a useless mo....." Emilia couldn't say more because she fell into a State of unconsciousness.

Jeremy quickly reached out to grab her by her waist before she could fall. His chest tightened upon seeing her State.

He reached out to caress her thin cheeks which were once round and Rosy.

Emilia looked much better. Her bruises didn’t appear as horrible as they were before. Her face was no longer pale. Her cheeks were red from the warm water and her blue eyes shone brightly. Giving her reflection a smile, she opened the door and peeked outside.

When she saw that Jeremy was not there, she stepped out and walked over to the bed, where a black dress was waiting for her with a pair of underwear.

The cotton dress was simple, and when she put it on, it came down to mid-thigh. It flowed from the hips and fit her perfectly, showing her curves. Putting on the black flats she found beside the bench, she walked back into the bathroom.

She opened several drawers, looking for a hairbrush. When she finally found one, she combed her messy, tangled hair until it was smooth and shiny.

After giving herself a pinch on each cheek and biting down her lips, reddening them further, she was ready. She walked toward the door, her steps confident and her shoulders straight.

Opening it, I saw Jeremy waiting for me, leaning against the wall.

When he looked at me, his eyes flared for a moment, his expression one of surprise.

"You look more gorgeous than years back" Jeremy said chuckling as he pinched her cheeks.

Her cheeks blushed crimson upon hearing his statement, a few words that she always wanted to hear from Killian but she never got the chance to hear it even if it is just once.

"Let's go have dinner at our favorite restaurant years back then you can tell me what happened to you, okay?" Jeremy said with a handsome smile and she nodded , her gaze stucked at her feet.

"That b*stard!!" Jeremy yelled clenching his fist to a point that Emilia could see veins popping.

"Calm down" Emilia said trying to calm him.

"Don't tell me to calm down, Emilia, how dare that b@stard do that to you!, What he did was clearly inhumane, those were his kids too!!" Jeremy yelled

"It's my fault for falling for someone cold and cruel as that, I shouldn't have had some hopes thinking he would fall for me..... " Emilia said as tears slid down her eyelids.

"Okay, stop crying, the b@stard doesn't deserve you!" Jeremy muttered wrapping his arms around her while she buried her face into his chest seeking solace.

"Excuse me, I need to use the restroom" Emilia muttered breaking free from Jeremy's embrace before walking towards the lady's restroom.

Emilia had to go away from Jeremy because she felt a sting in her eyes, the never ending urge to cry and the last thing she wanted was to cry in front of Jeremy again and again.

It'd be so embarrassing when Jeremy finds out that she still love Killian so much that it hurts.

Emilia fastened her pace towards the restroom only to bump into someone. Upon getting a closer look at the person, Emilia felt anger course through her whole being.

Why do she have to meet Evelina here of all places!!?.

Arrrgh.

"Hey sister" Evelina muttered with a hypocritical smile.

"I came to your house yesterday so that we could make up since we are sisters after all and we can't stay angry at each other forever but you weren't there" Evelina said with an evil glint shining inside the depth of those eyes.

"Not interested" Emilia muttered and was about to walk pass her but Evelina blocked her way.

"Emily, please forgive me, I was unconscious when Killian used your blood to save my life, back then if I had known that he was about to do that, I could have stopped him for the sake of your children" Evelina said

"You have no right to speak about the children I lost because of you!!!" Emilia yelled.

"I came to tell you that you deserve what happened to you and that God forsaken thing that you lost" Evelina whispered to Emilia's ears this time.

Anger course through Emilia's whole being to a point that she was shaking.

"You she-devil!!, b***h!" Emilia yelled and grabbed unto Evelina's hair like a madwoman while Evelina struggled effortlessly.

Soon Evelina fell to the floor with her head kissing the ground.

"Arrrghh" A sharp cry broke out from Evelina's lips as blood dropped down from her head.

"Lan, please am bleeding...." Evelina gasped while Emilia stared at Evelina in utmost confusion..

Everything passed by in a blur as Killian carried Evelina in his arms before rushing out of the restaurant but not without casting a glare over.

Emilia knew she was doomed and secondly, she knew that Killian wouldn't let her off the hook even though she decides to sell her soul to him. Evelina was really a good planner, Emilia knew she planned that small incident so that Emilia could get tortured one way or the other by Killian.
