Chapter 3

1723 Words
Past Midnight Mason Mason knew the midnight hour was coming up really soon here. So he had to get things around his home ready before he transformed into his wolf like self. He was used to not getting much sleep around there, he normally took a long nap before work and after. Sometimes he took a nap during his lunch hour at work, he never had time to sleep during the night. Now that a lady had moved in next door he was wondering if he should just stay in for the night? He did not want to startle Hannah next door. Or her child. Mason got out his large dog bowl. He filled it up with water for himself for that night, he left out a snack of choice that did not need to be refrigerated. He was all set for transformation time which was going to be coming in less than two seconds here. He begins to feel his teeth bother him, always the teeth, they began to grow like a set of baby's teeth do when adult teeth are coming in. But worse. They pulled at his gums. Coming in sharp. ♥☆♥☆♥ "Arrgh" groans Mason as he tries not to scream. He knew he could be loud when he transformed. With new neighbors he had to learn to keep the pain inside. His body shaped and shifted, twisted turned, making him into a wolf man. An uncontrollable howl escapes his lips. He panted when he was done transforming. His heart was racing at warp speed, he had to calm down, but it always took him awhile once the rush was flowing inside of his body after transforming. He was himself. Now what he was going to do he did not have a clue. He spots a baseball he had left on the floor from playing at the batting cage last week. The pup in him could not resist playing. He was finding himself rather bored, not being out in the open woods he loved so well. He rushed at the ball, like a playful puppy knocking over his lap breaking it as it tumbles to the floor. He grabs the ball in his mouth growling, slobbering all over the ball, letting the dog in him have a little bit of fun. He tosses the ball in the air then chases the ball with delight when it begins to bounce along the floor. The ball ends up in the middle of his bed. He leaps in his large bed that was made. He leaps about messing up the covers as he noses around to find his ball. He finds his pillows a bit hard to not bite into as he smells the soft chicken feathers from them. He chomps into the pillows. Growling something fierce as he tares up his pillow with his teeth. Feathers fly about all over the room around him, he knew he was going to have to clean the mess up the next day, but as for now that did not matter one bit. He so badly wanted to go outside. He spots the full moon by his bedroom window. He begins to hold back a howl that was growing in his throat. He had to find other ways to amuse himself. So Hannah could sleep even if he could not! Suddenly his ears perk up. He hears a scream flow in the night. Hannah! Why was she screaming? It sounded like she was outside! He rushes to the front door. The box blocked him in. He growls softly as he nudges the box away from the door. She screams again. ♥☆♥☆♥ "BEAR!" she yells. She was in danger! There had been a bear around that had been going in everyone's garbage in town. He had to save her! His heart began to race fast. He manage to get the box out of his way. He burst through the door breaking it more. He leaps fast into action. Another frightened scream comes through strong to his ears. "Help me!" she begs suddenly. She was over by her truck. A bear was growling and snarling in her face. She was frightened. He makes his way over to them as fast as he could go, he leaps at the bear to distract him from Hannah. Hannah screams covering her face when she sees there now is a wolf in the mix of things. "Mason!" she cries pitifully for his help. ♥☆♥☆♥ Little does she know he was already there! The bear fought back. He began to go after Mason. He swipes his paw into Mason's shoulder. Mason growls angrily as he bites into the bear's skin. The bear shakes Mason off making him fall to the ground. Mason yelps in pain when he hits the ground. His brother shows up to help. In wolf form as well. Now the fight was on. His brother leaps at the bear to defend his brother and Hannah. Hannah screams as she huddles by the truck. She goes to hide in the truck. The bear goes to lunge at her. Mason leaps at him knocking the bear over. Hannah scrambles to get in her truck she slams the truck door fast. Mason and Nathan attack at the bear. Growling, snarling. Biting at the bear. Hannah was terrified. The bear begins to take off to the woods. Nathan chases after it. Mason helps lead the bear away from Hannah. ♥☆♥☆♥  "Who was she?" Nathan demands to know once the bear was gone. "She moved into old lady, Betty's home. She is from Florida" he tells his brother. "She is beautiful" he tells her. "Stay away from her little brother. She is not your type" he warns Nathan. "Why is that? Is she your type brother?" Nathan challenges as they head back home. "No, she has a child. I know you. You said you never wanted kids" he reminds Nathan. "No but I do want a little fun" laughs Nathan. "Stay away from her. Hannah is a good girl. She has been hurt you hear me? Leave her alone" warns Mason to his brother. "Fine. I will. For now" he chuckles. "Night brother. Stay safe" "See you soon" Mason tells Nathan as his brother heads home. ♥☆♥☆♥ Mason hears distant crying from Hannah's truck. She was still stuck in the truck? Mason rushes over to her side. She had to go in before more danger came around! Hannah must be in shock still from the bear wolf fight. He did not blame her at all for that. It had been awhile since he saw a bear around here. He went over to her truck. He scratches his paws at the side of her truck playfully like a puppy would hoping this would get her to come out. He whimper's a puppy like whine to get her attention. At last it worked. She came out of the truck. She almost slams the truck door once she spots him there still. "Shoo, now! Go away will you!" she begs of Mason fearfully. Mason whines a puppy like whine. She still had the truck door open. So he went over to her places a paw on her leg. "I meant it go away...shoo" she begs of him. He playfully nudges her with his nose for her to pet him. "You are not a bad fellow huh? Are you wild? Or someone's pet?" she sighs with wonder when she soon comes to see he was friendly. She laughs as he nuzzles her leg playfully. She finally gets out of her truck. She shuts the door behind her. ♥☆♥☆♥ "I wonder where Mason is? Maybe he was sleeping" she wonders as she looks over at his place curiously. Little did she know Mason was right there before her. He whines for her to pet him. "You are kind of cute" she giggles as she bravely reaches her hand down to him. Her hand was shaking she nearly pulls her hand back away from him rethinking her thought about petting him. He leaps up on her. Licks her face. She laughs as she pets him. "You are someone's wild pet. But who's? Thank you for saving my life tonight" she giggles. "Where did the other one go? Your little buddy?" she wonders curiously looking around for Mason's brother. He had already left. Mason playfully helps her mood change. He knocks her down in the snow. He licks her face like a playful puppy would. She laughs as she ruffles his fur. "I am making all kinds of new friends around here huh?" she laughs. He lets her back up once her mood was changed to a better one. He almost smiles her way. "I had better go in. I am freezing. Who knows maybe I will see you around one day again?" she asks him. He nods almost. ♥☆♥☆♥  He rubs along her leg letting her pet him one more time before he took off. He waited around until she went into her home. She was safe at last. His job for the night was done. He was tired out. He went in his home. Put the box back over by the door. Then drank all his water. He ate his snack. Leaped on the couch. Circled around until he found a cozy spot to lay in for the night. He was ready for bed. "Save her!" Again every night. "Save them. Wolf wake up" demands the image of the ghost man again that night. "SAVE WHO!" demands Mason. "You know who!" he demands. "No I don't! I can't save someone unless I know who" growls Mason. "If you don't act fast he will come. They will be killed. Their blood will be on your hands" warns the ghost angrily. He was wearing a cop uniform. Mason saw him a bit better this time once he was more awake. "Who is coming here? What man?" demands Mason. The man was soon gone. Mason howled feeling frustrated and powerless. Who was he suppose to save?  And why did they need saving? ♥☆♥☆♥☆♥☆♥☆♥☆♥
