‘We’re staying, Slaps!’
Annie was caught up in an affectionate headlock the moment she stepped off the bus. She spat out a mouthful of Kelly’s auburn hair and then hugged her back. ‘Staying?’
‘Vicky agreed finally. She got her transfer approved and she’ll now be Nalong’s Maternal and Child Health Nurse. Mrs Wise has been waiting to retire for about six decades anyway. I swear she was measuring babies back when Nalong had a working train line. Sarah told Vicky she didn’t really care where they live since she’s planning to travel next year anyway. We’re going to keep the beach house and rent it out to tourists. We can still use it when we want. It’s perfect! I get to stay here and go to the beach in the holidays.’
