Chapter 33 Harry rounded the corner of the house just in time to see Lucas crawl through the lower panel of the smashed window and disappear into the lounge room. Thick black smoke spewed out of the room, all but obscuring the brief glimpse he had of the blood that dripped down his friend’s face. There was a burning curtain rod sticking out through the upper window pane, and Harry hoped none of the glass shards had reached Lucas’s eyes when it had smashed through. ‘Don’t even think about it,’ Sarah commanded, running from the opposite corner of the house with a running hose in her hands to block his path to the window.
