IN THE OUTSIDE WORLD

Their expectations were shattered as they entered the outside world. To their surprise,things were not really how they thought they would be .Burnt cars,collapsed mansions and people moving helter skelter seeking food and refuge and, also,the place was so quiet that the sound of footsteps from afar could be heard from where we stood.

David,who had left his jaw hanging upon seeing that,spoke for the first time. He shuddered as he spoke,making it impossible to make out the words he was spitting out. "Speak up!"Dan blurted out in frustration.

"The whole place is a mess." Dav said eventually. "What do you expect in a world surrounded by ravenous zombies?" "A bunch of monkeys singing hallelujah to the heavens?"he teased. That's not funny! Dav said.

"What the hell is that!"Levi interrupted. "s**t!they're close!" Dave exclaimed.

We've got no time. Let's find a hide out as soon as possible. He added. Behind the barricade. Dan directed. "Hurry!"he exclaimed.

They rushed and hid behind the barricade. Danielle, who had been angry at the whole scene, was laid in a different position, which favored her to have a clear depiction of the zombie that started towards their direction.

"Merry Christmas,you filthy animal!"she mumbled as she unholstered a shotgun she took from Levi. Without spending much time,she aimed for his head. Bang! Bang!It let out an incessant sound which could actually shatter a window frame.

The bullet accelerated at every distance it covered, gaining enormous velocity. Soon after some distance,it thrust through the head of the zombie. Several attempts to dodge proved futile as he laid uncomfortably struggling for some amount of oxygen to diffuse into his blood stream. Blood oozed profusely from the bullet hole,mouth and nostrils.

As the sensation of aggression erupted,she fired several bullets until her shotgun ran out. Suddenly, she fell on her knees as tears streamed down her cheeks. "I will have my vengeance in this life or the next!"she exclaimed.

Her tears grew wider as memories of her lost parent kept on flashing in her conscience. "We've got no time!"Dave blurted. There are more heading towards our direction, he added as he held onto her left arm firmly.

She resisted several times as she battled with her thoughts.

He almost gave up after some unsuccessful attempts. "Let go off me!" Danielle exclaimed. She mustered courage then walked up to the lifeless ghoul. "Die you i***t!"she exclaimed after releasing sputum directly onto the face of the hopeless creature. Go to hell you freaking looking monster!she added.

Over here! A feminine voice interrupted. They had no other option but to follow her. "What are you waiting for!"Dave uttered.

Behind her!he added. They trailed behind through the alley as darkness clouded the sky, almost making it impossible to make their way out. "We're almost there,"she uttered.

Dave,who was some few distances away, trailed until he became in a pair with her. Who are you? he inquired, as he could not withstand his curiosity any longer." I'll tell you about myself as time goes on."she uttered. For now,I've got to lead you and your friends to the camp.

Which camp?Danielle overhead then questioned from behind. "Well,if you want to know now, I'll tell you,"she blurted. It's a place where most survivors are. She added. What about my parents?Are they there?"Danielle questioned worriedly as tears clouded her eyeballs."I am sure," she replied. Suddenly, her facial impression changed for the better .I pray I find them there. She spoke to herself.

They dashed past blocks upon blocks through the alley and eventually got to their destination after some hours of running. "We're here," she blurted.

Wow! This is like the whole world here. Dave scoffed.

She giggled.

Danielle,who was so obsessed about the whereabouts of her parents, began seeking them there and then.

Dave,who was one way or another obsessed with this lady,mustered courage and walked up to her as his curiosity overshadowed his senses.

Who are you?he inquired...
