Dan's POV

The day turned out so badly after what seemed to be a sound sleep was broken by incessant snarls which came from outside.

I jolted into reality as I thought I was on the verge of being killed by the undead.

"What seems to be the problem?,"Danielle inquired as her face showed how concerned she was.

"Never mind, it was just a dream,"he said.

Their conversation was interrupted by a bang on the door which kept on for quite a long time.

"Those g-ghouls,"he stuttered.

"Hiding isn't the best option now,"Levi retorted.

"The only thing we can do to keep us alive for a while is to keep a distance away from them,"he added.

"Where do we go now?"he asked.

"There is still more to show you about this place,"Levi uttered.

"There is a secret pavement which leads to Broadriew

road,"he said.

"We could take that route,"he added.

"Great!",Dave exclaimed.

"I wonder if my parents used that route to escape,"Levi mumbled.

"No need to worry my friend,"Danielle assured.

"I'm sure they moved to the safe zone," she added.

"Where is that,"Levi questioned.

"That's some kilometers away from this state,"she blurted.

"I think we should be heading in that direction,"David retorted.

"Well,that seems understandable, but what do we defend ourselves with in case they cross our path?"he added.

"That's nothing to worry about,"he said as he gave a scary grin.

"What do you mean?"Dan questioned.

We've got utensils and cutlery sets and all sorts of sharp tools in the kitchen which can be used to defend ourselves.

"Those toys,"Dan scoffed.

Those are the only tools available! "he exclaimed.

That's a perfect idea,David said as the grimace on his face grew wider. Then he clenched his fist.

It seems my fists are thirsty for some punches, he added.

They hurriedly moved to the kitchen, which was some few steps away from where they stood to select the tools of their choice.

Daniel picked up the frying pan.

"I can't wait to splat those creatures alive! "he exclaimed.

What the heck!,"he Levi exclaimed.

Frying is not going to be done there, he scoffed. My baby girl will be perfectly fine with me,"he assured her.

Danielle giggled.

Levi picked up a short gun which was lying in the drawer.

"Oh! It's loaded,"he uttered.

To stay on the safer side,he filled his pocket with more bullets.

I'm set,he blurted.

David picked up the cutlery set.

"Damn! there is a joker's weapon in this,he blurted.

He would be a 'dead walker' soon,Daniel scoffed.

Danielle picked up the butcher's knife.

"I can't wait to chop down their asses! "she exclaimed.

"Wow!she's hot,"Dan uttered.

"Guys! I think we've got a bigger problem,"she blurted as she took a glimpse through the window.

Hurriedly, Levi moved to where she stood. Then, I glanced at what seemed to be the problem through their window.

"Holy s**t! "he exclaimed.

"There are many of them heading towards our direction,"he said.

"We've got to evacuate this building as soon as possible,"he added. Dan and Danielle took the lead, leaving David and Levi behind.

"We have to stay for a while,"David insisted.

They can't break into this building, he added.

"This is certainly stupid! "Levi yelled.

" You will be eaten if you stay behind,"he added.

"Okay! " he exclaimed.

Levi immediately sprinted past him to where the others were.

"Looking at what is at hand, I've got no other words to say but to accept,"he added.

As he shambled his way to the entrance,the others waited impatiently for him.

"Hurry! "Levi yelled.

The bashing grew louder as the creatures multiplied in number.

The door couldn't withstand the force any longer, so it broke.

"Damn!Their in!,"Levi exclaimed.

"Just behind you! "Danielle shouted.

"What?"David asked, as his face proved how confused he was.

"Oh sorry! I thought it was one of them,"she replied.

Out of nowhere,one of the Zombies broke through the door, rushing towards him with harsh growls which immediately erupted fear in him.

"Help! "David yelled.

"Run! "they screamed.

Hurriedly, he moved out as fast as his legs could carry him to where his friends were.

"Close it! " Levi yelled.

Then they did immediately.

From behind, they could hear the snarls increasing.

"There is more in the house! " Danielle exclaimed.

" Yeah,"Dan said.

"That creature scared the hell out of me,"he uttered.

Danielle giggled, then uttered,"next time you listen to whatever is said to you."

"Whatever! "David exclaimed.

"Let us see what happens to the girl with the butcher's knife in the next 10hrs,"he added.

"There is no more time for this! " Levi shouted.

Without uttering a word, they all dashed along the pavement...
