The group had settled into a routine after the trial. Every Thursday, someone texted the group chat around lunchtime. Condo tonight? Nobody ever asked what they were doing. It didn't matter. Some nights they played cards until two in the morning. Some nights Quinn insisted on making dinner, despite the fact that he somehow managed to burn garlic bread with alarming consistency. Other nights they watched terrible horror movies while Pierce buried his face in Cade's shoulder during every jump scare, swearing each time that he wasn't scared, just startled.
