The first time it happened, Cade assumed he'd imagined it. They were curled together beneath the blankets on a rainy Saturday afternoon, the windows cracked just enough to let in the smell of wet pavement. A movie played quietly in the background, long forgotten somewhere around the halfway mark. Pierce rested against Cade's chest, absentmindedly tracing circles across the back of his hand while they talked about nothing in particular.
