{Dyson POV}
“Amara, are you okay? I caught the end of what was going on and tried to run over as quick as possible.”, I say with concern. I can’t believe how well she handles herself. Maybe her being human won’t put her in harms way. I’ll just arm her with potions at all times. “Im fine Amara says, I wasn’t going down without a fight.” “Are y’all folks okay?, an officer asks exiting his car. “We’re fine now but this guy sleep on the ground got too handsy and wouldn’t take no for an answer so I had to use my taser on him. I did warn him several times before deploying the taser but he would not let go of me,” Amara says. “I understand ma’am,” The officer says while reaching down to confirm the suspect has a pulse. “Well he has a strong pulse, seems like you just knocked him out but I’ll have the medics look him over just to be on the safe side.” He turned to look at Amara friends and asked, “Did anyone see what fully happened here?” I spoke up first. “I saw mostly the ending of the struggle. He had such a tight grip on her arm and waist that all three of the girls together couldn’t muster up the strength to separate him from her. It looks to me that her actions were justified”. I glance over and noticed her friends were nodding in agreeance.
The ambulance pulls up and takes random guy. “You ladies and gentlemen wouldn’t happen to know this fellows name would you?” The officer asks. “No, sorry I wasn’t interested in him at all, not even enough to catch his name, Amara says. “Thanks, the officer says, “just checking. Y’all ladies be safe getting home, now. “I’m going to personally see to it that all three of these lovely ladies make it home”, I say while looking directly into Amara’s eyes. “Alright now, if anything changes in his condition I’ll let you know Ms. Teal.” The cops says while getting into his car and driving off towards the same direction the ambulance left. “Okay ladies, let’s get you home,” I say.
“Is it bad that I’m starving after everything that just happened?”, asks Amara with a genuinely concerned face. “No, that’s not bad at all that means that you are strong. A normal woman would be hysterical crying and going on after what just happened but you, you want to eat,” I chuckle. “Oh so I’m not I’m not normal, she says with a playful tone. “No, you’re not normal, I pause you’re special”, I say while lightly grabbing her shoulder. She looked at my hand on her shoulder and I could tell she didn’t want me to pull away. We stared into each other’s eyes for 30 seconds, I want those lips on mine I think to myself. Her beautiful juicy full lips. Amara broke the silence before I had a chance to make my move. “So what are we going to eat?” “I don’t know but y’all need to hurry up”, one of her friends yells through the open car window. Amara ignored her and looked to me for answers. “I know a nice 24 hours spot me and my boys go to some nights. Y’all follow me, I say with a sly smirk. “Okay, don’t drive too crazy and don’t forget that I’m right behind you, she says. “I haven’t been able to forget you since I ran into you this morning,” I say. “Literally”, she says with laugh. There was a brief silence. Okay well I’ll see you at the place. What’s it called?,” Amara asked. “It’s called Ronnies, I say. “Ronnies, got it”, she says while getting into her car. I turn around and head to my own car, get inside start the engine and head to Ronnies.
After you gorgeous, I say with a devilish smile, “thank you, handsome”, Amara says with a voice that sounds like apple pie on a summer day. How many will be dining?,” the waiter asks. Glancing around, I say we have a party of six. “Right this way sir”, the waiter says and seated us at table that sits all six of us comfortably. “My name is Josh and I will be your waiter tonight. What would you all like to start off to drink tonight?” Amara and the ladies ordered a strawberry pineapple mimosa while the boys and I opted for a draft beer. “I’ll get your drinks right to you and l’ll bring the table some waters as well, Josh says while handing us menus. We all thanked him as he walked away. “So Dyson is it?” Stacey asked. “That’s me” I Say. This is my cousin s***h bestfriend Stacey and this is my bestfriend Tensely. Stacey is a year older than us but we’ve been thick as thieves since birth really. Our moms were best friends, Amara butts in and says. Smiling, I say, “That sounds awesome. Are you all only children?” This time Tensely answered, “as far as I know I’m the only child.” “Yeah me and Stacey don’t have any siblings either,” Amara says. “We were each other siblings growing up. I love these girls.” “Aww we love you too Amara, says Stacey and Tensely.
I look over and I see that Stacey and Tensely are both intently talking to Micah and Bryce. I’m not sure what my boys are saying to those two that’s making them so giddy but I’ll take this time to try to get to know Amara a little more privately. “So Amara, are you from Denley?” I asked curiously. “I am, born and raised, she answered proudly. “Really I’m from here too. What made you want to stay and attend the University of Denley,” I asked. She’s so beautiful she can travel the world. Why would she choose this city of all cities for college? She should be studying abroad in Paris or France. My thoughts are caught off by Amara explaining why she chose The University of Denley. “Ours moms went to school here and we heard so many stories growing up of all the good times they all had together. It was simply a no brainer that this was the school for us. “Sounds like you have everything figured out, I say. “I wish, she says longingly. “We’ll what’s your major”, I asked. “I’m a English major.” “English really? Why English?”, I asked eagerly waiting her answer. “I’d like to become a professional writer.” She says. “I’d love to read something of yours one day. What’s your genre of choice. “Fiction, fantasy.” We have so much in common. “Same,” I say. “My favorite book — well books are actually the Harry Potter chronicles. We spent the rest of the night talking and eventually everyone else joined in. The guys split the bill and we all head back to campus. Bryce and Micah walked Stacey and Tensley to their dorms and I walked Amara back to her dorm. “I had a good time with you tonight I say to Amara. “I did too but next time let’s do a one on one date, she says in a flirtatious tone. “I’ll hold you to that, I say while looking intensely into her eyes. Then something came over me. Something was pulling me to her I couldn’t help myself. I slowly pulled her bangs from I’m front of her face and leaned in and kissed her. When our lips touched it felt like fireworks had exploded. I could kiss these lips for the rest of my. Her body language seemed to enjoy the kiss as well but I didn’t want to move to quickly so I broke the kiss. “Why’d you do that, she asks with hunger in her eyes. “We have time, love,” I say. She looked like she wanted to protest but she decided to let it go. We exchanged numbers and I headed to my own dorm. I open the door and cut on the light and it’s a f*****g demon in my room. He was muscular build with a scar on the left side of his face. I know enough from my mom that this is an upper level demon. What is an upper level demon doing in my dorm? I haven’t even come into my full powers yet but I couldn’t think about this at the moment. I quickly whipped out the potion, my mom insists that I keep on me at all times, and threw it at the demon. He tried to dodge the bottle but I was too quick for him. He instantly combusted but before the explosion could fully form it disappeared into a bright light. “Thank god for mom,” I think out loud.
