Chapter 54

400 Words
Yasmyn's POV I smiled the moment I heard Brendan's voice on the phone. The only communication we have as of now, is this. The Alpha telephone line that the working Royals have with each pack. "How are you?" I asked him and heard him go silent for a moment before answering. "I am good. How have you been? Are you safe?" He asked me back. "Why do you always think that I am in danger? I am just trying to live my life as a Royal until someone else takes this title from me. I don't want it anyways," I told him and there was another moment of silence again. "Let's not forget that the walls have ears," Brendan told me again and I groaned. Then how can I ever talk to him without someone being the ear? He is in a different pack and so am I. "I called you because there is something you need to know," Brendan told me and with that, I was all ears. "Don't react too much. Act as if you are talking about yet another small issue," Brendan told me. Even though my palms began to sweat, I still went on with his plan. "A few incidents are happening here, that made me realise that you shouldn't trust anyone," Brendan told me. He still did not come to the point. Great. "Remember how Adi came back to consciousness after he went into a coma-like state?" Brendan asked me. "I don't," I said because one fine day, Adi woke up. "Well, I gave him the antidote. Silas was the one who asked me to give that to Adi and see if he woke up. And he did," Brendan told me. And in that case, it only means one thing. "Silas knows something that you and I don't," Brendan told me just when Silas came into view with something in his hand. "I'll call you later," I said and hung up, giving Silas the smallest of the smiles. "Your Majesty," he bowed to me and handed me what looked like papers that came from the lab. "The case of your parents is also slow food poisoning," Silas told me. I didn't react. The walls have ears. "Lucky for us, I think I have the antidote," Silas said again. He indeed knows something I don't know. How the heck does he have an antidote for this?
