Brendan's POV

The journey back to The Sundown Pack is nothing like I expected it to be. My heart and mind are racing.

There are so many things that I need to work on as soon as I get back to the pack. I need to appoint a team to look at everything that happened at the laboratory in the last few years.

Whoever used the poison on Adi, should pay. If it is my father, so be it. If it is someone else, then I need to know who that is.

The investigation should happen in all ways and in all levels.

The gates were lowered for me to enter and the people smiling at me seemed a bit different. They were a tad disappointed that I don't have Yasmyn with me.

If only I can actually bring her here along with me. But she needs to be there now more than ever.

"The Royal Guards to the former Alpha," one of the pack members told me.

So that was why they looked sad? Not because Yasmyn is not here?

"Yes. Well. He is needed at the capital pack. He will be here in a few days," I told them but they were not buying it anymore.

One thing that I need to accept is my father was a good Alpha. He was a failure as a husband and a father, but he was a great Alpha.

When someone else calls him Asshole, then that means they know him personally. Because the ones who know him professionally know that he is loved by his people.

"No. They tied him up and took him. If he was needed there, they would have taken him normally" someone else from the crowd said.

"Well, that's the point. The Royal protocol sometimes asks for bizzare things. He might be your Alpha but he is my father. So trust me when I say that he will be back a few days later. Until then, let's work in harmony and keep things moving," I smiled at them in hopes that they would smile back.

But that did not happen. Instead, they looked at me as if I just told them that the earth is a donut and we are all sprinkles.

"Great comparison by the way," Chase said in the back of my head.

"We will take your word for now," Gamma Erwin said and I raised my eyebrow at him.

He's gotta be kidding me. He was always a fox waiting for his turn to climb up the ladder. He is also my father's loyal servant.

"Like Gamma said, we will take your word for now" someone from the crowd told me again.

And now, things aren't really looking great. They all look like they are turning violent.

"But if Alpha Andrews isn't back after 10 days," Erwin said as he took a step forward,"then we go against the Royals"

Heck no. This is not the time for a revolt.

Moreover, why the heck are they calling my father their Alpha when I am the Alpha?!
